JoJoC, also sorry to hear your husband has had a bug and that your little man has been in the wars too.
WantToBeSE, have a good day at work!0 -
Thanks for the well wishes! They'll both survive but are feeling a bit sorry for themselves
Today is the start of my weekend which is great. I really want to get some housework done today and need to get to Asda for a few things (proper Aldi shop will be done on Sunday. Will need to keep my wits about me so that I don't overspend!
It's payday for me today, so I've transferred another £250 into savings, which means I'm almost back up at the £2k mark. It's still a bit rubbish to think that I could've been more than half way to £3k by now but I need to draw a line under it and move on!
Your holiday plans sound fab WTBSE- I have every confidence that you'll do it! Summer sun is just what you all needand a happy birthday to your son- I hope he had a lovely day and family dinner.
When I've not been able to put away to savings this month, I've been putting as many £1s in as I can to my tin.
The other day I won a small sweepstake at work on guessing a colleagues baby's date of birth so I won £10 in pound coins (straight in the tin), I had £4 in my purse, straight in the tin, and husband saw how giddy I was at putting lots of pounds into the tin that he have me three from his pile of change. JoJo you made me smile with the glee of the pound coins. I used to have an emergency £2 coin fund in an old teapot that was for takeways when I CBA to cook. Made it feel less 'naughty'. Now I have to stock pile pound coins for the boys bus fare to school so they are in short supply.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0

Evenin' All
This post should be sponsored by Red Wine! That's exactly what I plan on opening a bottle of, just as soon as I have had a hot bubble bath.
the kiddywinks are at their Dads house until Sunday and I am doing nothing except relaxing! Have just eaten my favourite dinner (grilled chicken breast smothered in herbs, rocket, ratatouille with extra chestnut mushrooms) and cant wait for bed time already!
Will post more after my day of relaxation tomorrow0 -
That dinner sounds fabulous WTBSE! Yum! Hope you enjoy your relaxing weekend!
Hex, I'm glad my glee made you chuckleit's amazing the little things in life that can make you happy! What a game that you don't have the chance to save them anymore... You cannot share my glee!
Well, husband just came home tonight with £200 cash in his wallet! The last two weeks his boss was on holiday and he was holding the fort, organising work, sorting out the apprentices and taking phone calls etc. this was a bonus for doing extra!

Morning All
See, Jojo, your savings are increasing alreadyGreat stuff! I must admit that every £1, £2, 50p, 20p or 10p coin that isn't being used for the weekly shopping is going straight into my pot of dreams at the moment. I estimate it has about £50 in it already. I am looking forward to seeing the amount when its full!
Today I am off to do my mindfulness meditation day from 10-4. I am really looking forward to that.
The weather is awful today, so when I get home I am going to curl up and watch a DVD I think (need to stop off at Argos and actually buy one first)!
Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!0 -
Good morning WTBSE! who was your mindfulness yesterday? Hope it was as good as the first one
I've just got shopping on the agenda today- I suppose you'll be doing yours if your boys are back tonight?
You're right, the savings aren't long in mounting up again. I've got the bug again and just want to keep the momentum going!!CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Good Morning All
The Mindfulness was lovely, thanks Jojo. It was just as good as the first one. unfortunately I don't think I am able to make it to the next one, but have asked them to email me details about the one after that.
Yes, I am going to do my food shop this morning, I had a lovely lie in until 8.45am this morning, it was lovely! But I need to get the food shopping done so I am off to Aldi in a bit to do that. I have a list ready but it isn't really that big.0 -
Hi All
Food shopping done, came to £75. Mostly in Aldi but a few bits from Morrisons too.
Housework almost finished, both children are home. Now I just need to make up my younger sons packed lunch for tomorrow.
I spent £15 on a set of bathroom scales today. I really need to lose this stone, and I think keeping an eye on numbers will help.
I am looking forward to the day off tomorrow. I don't have any plans really, just to do some reading.
have a lovely evening everyone0 -
Hope you had a lovely day off WTBSE! My Monday was so-so considering I was working and husband is working away overnight.
It was a lovely day here today, there was a summer air.
It's my sister's birthday tomorrow so wrapping her present and nursing a bottle of beer that I treated myself to.
I've got a busy day of meetings tomorrow then to my mums for dinner for my sister's birthday. It's going to be a late-ish one, I can tell. Thankfully we can try to scoot off when the little man gets tired.
Must do the dishes and lunches before bed! The motivation just isn't there but it won't be there in the morning before work either...CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))
