Hahaha, I know, I was like "whaaaaat is he doing!!" but obviously kept professional and didn't mention anything. He was just chatting away like there was nothing going on :D

I wish I had more days like this!

Thank you for the lovely birthday messages everyone- I've had an eventful day! A close friend of mine had a baby boy this morning which is fab. However, I was at my mums for dinner and my grandma (78 years young) took a tumble down the garden steps and whacked her head off the patio. It was a really sore one. We called an ambulance to be on the safe side and they took her in. She's just got home but we're still a bit worried about her. Poor soul.

So, all in all, a mental day!

Congrats on your pay rise WTBSE! Well deserved :) and it's always nice to get recognition for your hard work! Have you worked out how much extra that'll be for your savings pot? Or are you going to spend the extra on treats? I'm terrible...as soon as I know about a pay rise, I need to allocate the money straight away!

That's hilarious about the client stripping off! I take it you found it hard to concentrate?! There's nothing wrong with some nice views while at work... :)

Hi Jo, sorry to hear about your Grandma's fall, how is she feeling now? Glad that the rest of your day went well though :)

Yes, it was slightly difficult to concentrate on the work ;)

So, we are pretty much all ready for our trip tomorrow! Have packed most of the stuff we need, and have written several lists of everything you could possibly imagine (think still need to be packed, directions to the Travelodge, directions to pizza hut, last minute things, housework needed to be done before we leave etc)...I LOVE lists!! :D

We are taking coats as well as sun block, as you never know what to expect! Also have packed some snacks (the ones that haven't been eaten yet!) and bottles of water etc.

I think we are organised! I am not paying for Wifi at the Travelodge, but someone told me that it may be possible to connect to the free Wifi at the Little Chef onsite..we'll see.

So, if I manage to get online, I will post tomorrow evening from the Travelodge, but if not then I will be back on Sunday!

    have a great weekend everyone!!

    Afternoon All :)

We had an AMAZING time!! Didn't manage to stay within my budget, but hey ho, never mind.

There are so many great things that I cant tell you about them all, plus i'd bore you to death :D, but my top moments were:

-A cheetah walking right next to our car and looking in at us...it was a little scary to think its face was less than half a metre away!

-The Monkey Drive-thu. It was just brilliant! My car survived intact, they just tried to pull of some plastics bits off but didn't :)

-Longleat house and gardens were spectacular! The guide was wonderfully informative too.

    -The Meerkats..need I say more?

Just such a fab day out, well worth the money and the drive there. We stayed all day, from opening to closing time, and still didn't manage to do a few things. So we are planning a day trip again in Summer.

But I now am feeling the bug for weekend getaways, so am looking to do another one in the summer holidays, but cannot think of any good places to go- Suggestions welcome :)

I need to sit down and work out my budget...eeek!

Sounds like you had an AWESOME time!! I love animal safaris- can't wait till my little man is old enough to enjoy the one near us.

How about York? Scottish highlands? A uk city break? Suppose it depends what you're looking for!

Well, I managed to sort out my numbers after having to dip into my savings a bit a couple of weeks ago. We put a bit back in as well, so my signature is accurate now.

Looks like we'll just break even/ save a teeny bit this month but at least we're not in debt!

It's been an expensive month :(

    Onwards and upwards!

I'm off work this week so looking forward to spending some quality time with my little boy. Its a shame my husband couldn't get this week off (his boss is away so he's holding the fort) but we'll have two weeks together in the summer.

I'm hoping to do some baking this week too- haven't done much recently and I miss it.

Did you get round to doing your budget WTBSE?

Thanks Jo, those are some great suggestions. We'll see what happens.

No, I didn't get around to doing the budget yet, I was just so shattered that I got an early night. I don't need to spend more than £30 this week on food though, as we only need snacks and basics. I haven't written a list because it'll mainly be fruit etc. I am going shopping in about half an hour.
Because I don't need to spend much, I put £30 in my pot.

I have volunteered to work this Friday and Monday (Bank Holidays) as I want some extra money (it'll be an extra £50).

I am not working today though, so am going to catch up on all of my housework. Booooo!
