Thanks Hantsman, some wise words there. I think I will probably go for the opportunity, it's just a scary prospect! I think I just need to convince myself that I can do it. I'm obviously just lacking confidence in my ability because I've always got the boss to double check stuff with.

Thanks Jo.
I think you should go for it too. You need less self doubt and more self belief / confidence. If you take the the opportunity you will probably surprise yourself at how competent you actually are-which in turn will boost your self confidence. You will then be able to make an informed decision as to whether that role is for you.good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Woooooooooooo-Hoooooooooooooo the School Easter Holidays have begun! Really looking forward to my boys being home and not having to drop off at school before I go to work
I have just got home from work and am shattered, but am determined to finish my shopping list today and MAYBE go shopping tonight, although I would like to just veg out on the sofa
Hi Hantsman, welcome to my diary, lovely to see a new person here
Tatty- those treats sound lovely! I hope you are not overdoing it?0 -
Well, Did you get your shopping done? I hope so! Or at least the list finished!
I'm going to write my list tonight/ tomorrow and getting my shopping done tomorrow afternoon for the week. Will hopefully be another low spend week, although we need things like deodorant, nappies and other bits for the house so not as cheap as I'd normally hope.
I bet your boys will be glad of the long lies and school-free days too. Have you much else planned other than Longleat? XCC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Morning All
yes Jo, I actually DID get the shopping done! I was amazedI didn't want to spend much on food this week, as I don't really need much apart from fruit and veg and the boring basics (bread, milk, hobnobs
) so only spent £50. Then I used the rest of the food budget to pay for my next Mindfulness Day which is on the 26th
Have you started on your shopping list yet?
Today we are just dossing about at home, relaxing. I had a lovely lie in until 9.30am which is unusual for me, I must have needed it. I do love having older children who can get themselves breakfast!
I need to order my sons laptop soon, for his birthday. I cant remember if I gave the link to it, so here it is:

If anyone knows anything about laptops, please feel free to give me your opinion! It is £100 cheaper then in the Argos catalogue, as its a seller refurbished one. I want to order it soon so that I can make sure its OK and try it out before giving it as his present.
Tatty- how are you feeling now?0 -
I have written my list and will be going to get it this afternoon. Husband and I are going shopping today for new trainers for him and some bits for my son- he's taken a stretch and needs loads of new clothes. Sigh. More spending than saving!
I have no clue about laptops but this one does look good! Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will give you the thumbs up. Your son will be delighted.
Well done on getting your shopping done! It makes all the difference getting it out of the way, doesn't it?CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Yes, it is definitely better to get it over and done with!
Next week I think I am going to do an online delivery for the Sunday evening. We'll get home about 5pm and I don't want to have to worry about not having enough food in the house when we return.
I am going to sit down and work out my budget until May, to see if i'll hit the £2K mark or not.0 -
Ok, I have worked out that I can exceed my £2K target by £23 if nothing unexpected crops up!
I should be able to save £500 in April and £700 in May (this depends on me getting petrol allowance and the private clients paying on time).
I have ALREADY started writing a food shopping list for next weekI am going to try sainsburys for the first time!
Tonights dinner is fish pie. I have taken the fish and prawns out of the freezer, so I hope they are defrosted in time for this evening. Fish Pie is one of my favourite meals ever, so am looking forward to that.
Lunch will be left over salad and Pitta breads.
I am also trying to use up as much fresh stuff as I can this week. I have a few things lurking in the fridge that needs using up, so that will keep costs down.0 -
Well thank you for the welcome WantToBeSE, it's nice to be able to read about people like yourself working hard towards goals and seeing your progress. You seem to have some nice people commenting as well.
I've taken a bit of inspiration from your food plans as well and i'm aiming for no wasted food each week. The only problem is, until I get better at judging in advance it sometimes means eating ALOT when I overestimate what i'll need! I've been using Jamie Oliver's book "Save With Jamie" to make a big meal on sunday and use the leftovers in different way through the week. I also volunteered to help with setting up/taking down equipment for a local concert for kids and got lunch and dinner provided so that saved me some pennies and gave me my workout for the day!
Anyway, I hope everyone had a good weekend.12K in 2017 No.029: £7154.37/ 18,000 (40%)
