No kicks up the bum from me! I actually think you deserve a pat on huge back!
Ok, it probably wasn't your wisest move spending £80 on not very much, but we all have those days and that's what we learn from. Also, sometimes your kids just need treats so the odd Burger King and book buying session might dent your bank balance a bit but it's worth it for a treat.
I'm glad you wrote a list of things that were worrying you- it's definitely the best thing to do when you're stressed. I actually keep a notepad and pen by my bed for those nights that I can't sleep for thinking about things.
Hopefully ticking those things off the list will make you feel a bit better and get you back to square one finance-wise!

Thanks Jo
No, not much on for the rest of this week. Working Thursday and Friday. Hoping to take the boys out to the beach on Saturday, but I haven't looked at the weather forecast so not sure yet.
How are you and the little one feeling now Jo?
tattycath-i hope you are feeling OK?
I feel much better having done those 2 things, much more relieved.
The £80 was out of my Longleat Break money. That money is just for spends and food while we are there. I will replace it out of my normal weekly money before we go. *sigh*0 -
At least it is replacable and not leaving you short for essentials though! You'll get there
Just draw a line under it and move on- no good will come of dwelling on it!
My little boy is much better now thanks and I'm on the mend toothink I'll be back at work tomorrow at this rate, although I'll have a cheek to go back tomorrow just to finish up and be off Friday to Monday again!
I love that you've got a beach so close. The nearest beach to us is only about 40 mins away but we never go. Not sure why!
Husband and I aren't really beach people when it comes to holidays (hate the sand...and the sea for that matter) but a walk by the beach with the little man wouldn't be so bad! It's not like we're paddling in to he sea or anything!
I've got a family ladies day on Saturday which should be nice and doing something nice for Mother's Day on Sunday xxCC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

I'm not unwell, just severely lacking in motivation.
Now I'm at home a lot, I need to get myself into a routine-that doesn't involve being on the internet for large chunks of the day.
Any suggestions gratefully received.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

You shouldn't be offended, but you know you are different from most englishmen lol. They like their meat, plain and simple. And with spuds- you should see his face if I try to serve it with rice like we eat back home lol.
AS for beans, beans on toast. Doesn't matter how many decades I live here, I'll never get into that. Kids like it OK though.
I do however make a mean welsh rarebit. That seems to make the grade with the men in my possession.
Sorry, I missed this somehow.
Yes, I am different from most Englishmen. Don't like sport. Don't like slabs of meat, like steaks. Love rice, and pasta, with appropriate (or inappropriate) sauces; and salads, maybe with sliced chicken or ham or other meats from the deli counter, maybe just various bits of plant.
I have a can or two of baked beans in tomato sauce in a cupboard, for emergencies, but I rarely touch them.
I haven't a grill, so can't do proper welsh rarebit.Eco Miser

Morning All
I am doing extra hours at work today. Will still only get paid about £80 this week thoughNever mind, I have £80 in the bank, so combined that'll be enough to get me through the week.
I need to do my budget and shopping list today, after work.
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Hi WTBSE, it's a bit disheartening when you don't feel like you've got much in the bank but in sure that's plenty to keep you going for a week.
Hope you're getting your budgeting and meal plan sorted!
Don't you put it off now... Haha
Back at work today and feeling much better for it/ still a bit rough but I'll cope.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Jo, you know me too well
I still have not done a shopping list and definitely wont have time to do the food shop tomorrow during the day, so will end up doing it on Sunday I think.
Still feeling a bit blah but I think its my TOTM which explains itBlinkin' hormones! Just had a lovely hot bath and am making a nice cup of tea
That'll do the trick!
I hope you are all back to normal soon Jo0 -
Just wanted to say that as an Australian I love a good beach and living in London I miss being able to get to one in a reasonable amount of time. I like a dip in the sea but also just walking along beaches is wonderful, in any weather, great in the rain or in the middle of winter. So if I had one within 40 minutes I would go, JoJoC
I bet your little boy would love it.
EcoMiser, I love a good steak, so I'll fill in for you when it comes to your English man duties on that one, if you like0 -
I'm replying with one eye open in bed so will update properly tomorrow.
Husband just out £120 into the piggy bank, bringing our total to £1870!!
Can't wait to sort out money tomorrow and make sure we meet that £2k target. Sorry for bleating on about it but I really am so excited.
Talk more tomorrow. Night!CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))
