Sorry for the half-effort post last night! I was excited and half asleep...

    Anyway, I'm awake now!

Tut tut, WTBSE, I thought you might not do your list! Sometimes it's better to get the rubbish out the road first so the rest of the chores/tastes seem better or more enjoyable? Also, I'd like to practice waft I preach because I'm a bit if a procrastinator!

I'd love to love the beach Cathy, but I just never have. Even as a child, I hated things in the sea touching my feet, I hated getting wet, I hated getting my feet wet then walking across the dry sand then being covered, I hated getting sand in all kinds of places! So basically, I was just a grumpy child haha

A walk on the beach won't do us any harm I'm sure and my son would love it!

As I've now mentioned on three threads (yawn-boring!) I've hit my £2,000 target! Hooray! I'm so, so pleased :)

Hope your bath and your cuppa helped the hormones to vanish and make you feel more positive. I hate feeling blah...

    Have a fab day everyone!

:j  No, NOT 'yawn boring'...well done you for hitting your £2K target! you have every right to be pleased, I am really pleased for you!! Are you breaking your big target (£8K by the looks of your signature) into 'mini targets'?

I hope to be right behind you by the end of next month :) I cant wait to see £2K in my account!

It never rains but it pours...my washing machine has broken!
I have been through all of the 'how to fix your washing machine' tutorials and articles online, but nothing has fixed the problem :(
It wont spin at all, so I can rinse either.

It could need new brushes. A local repair man could do it, or if your really really brave you could do it yourself. You do have to take the belt off and the motor out, but there are tutorials on YouTube.

Thanks WTBSE- I'm delighted about hitting the target but I feel like I'm plastering it everywhere and folk will beike- 'yeah, you already said'. Haha.

I'm not so much breaking it up into quarters or anything?m, I just think if I've got an idea of how much I want by the end of the month, it's nice to use that as a mini target just to push myself. Back to that instant gratification feeling! A couple of weeks ago I knew I was £450 away from £2k and thought I might be able to stretch to te 2k by the end of the month. It's just extra motivation really!

I want to save £8k this year and £8-10k next year so that we can sell our flat and buy a family home (then maybe have another baby...haha).

That's rotten that your washing machine is broken!!

As someone says above, might we worth calling a local repairman/handyman (one that doesn't have a big call out fee!) and see if it's something cheap to fix.

Remember though, that's why you have savings! So that you can replace things when they break without getting into debt :)

To be fair, I have had it for almost 10 years and its never had a problem with it. I feel that once they get to this age, its always best to get new ones as they'll end up costing too much money (like cars really). I would LOVE to be proved wrong though!!
It started making a squeaking sound when spinning and now just wont spin at all.

    Goood Morning!

I feel very chirpy today, despite having just spent £300 on a new washing machine...Happy Mothers Day to me :D Just what I have always wanted...

I managed to get free Recycling that would have cost £10, so at least that's something. I got it from http://ao.com/ I haven't not ordered with them before, but the customer service person on their Facebook was really helpful and chucked in the free Recycling for me, so I am happy. Its free delivery for tomorrow too. And also installing it and disconnecting the old one.

So, not a bad price really. The one I am getting is this one: http://ao.com/product/ECOWMB81445LW-Beko-EcoSmart-Washing-Machine-White-26084.aspx

Yikes, its definitely going to be a tight month or 2 now! I will have to update my signature later as well.

I have to say how pleased I am about things. I know I have taken a hit to my savings, but it wasn't all that long ago that I wouldn't have been able to afford a new washing machine and would have been in real trouble now mine has broken.
    I am so pleased.

Talking of spending money (again!) I have seen a laptop that my son wants for his Birthday. It's £250 from the eBay Argos store. That's yet more money to spend..aarrgghh......but it's all planned and I can afford it all :)

Jo- You have permission to shout at me, I STILL have not written a shopping list! I must do it though, as I have to go shopping today so that I can wait in all day tomorrow for my washing machine to be delivered.
I am going to do that NOW!
