    Hi All :)

Just been reading the thread about 'Pink Fluffy Savings Diaries'..i really hope i am Pink and Fluffy enough to be in that category. Nothing better than a bit of pink fluffy stuff :D Honestly, some people (where is the rolling your eyes smiley when you need it?).

Today i was paid more than i thought i was going to get from the agency. Can't work out why really, but they said that it's what i am owed.
So worked out how mush money i need for next week (Gas, Elec, Petrol, food) and put the rest into my savings account.

New total= £1072.78 I've officially smashed my target :money:  :j yay!!! I keep looking at my savings account on my phone app..i cannot believe i have managed to save over £1000 :)

Now for my 2nd target- to get that amount up to £1500 by the end of Feb. I am sure i can do it :)

hi WantToBeSE, I have absolute faith that you can save another £500 in Feb :) Well done on smashing your target :T:T:T

I commented on that thread - nicely (I think). Blimey though, if you don't want to read various threads on MSE, just don't read them!

I've got quite a lot of stuff done today, including sorting out my tax (almost) - just waiting on one figure and then my return can go in for this year.

How did you go finding out about psychotherapist courses, by the way? ...

Thanks Cathy, i am really pleased :)

I have to admit, i have not yet looked into the psychotherapy courses as i wanted my therapist to recommend one and i havent seen her yet.

I have so much on my mind that i want to write, but am just so shattered that i cant be bothered. Going to veg out, watch trashy TV and come back all refreshed tomorrow.

Good morning, Diary Readers (and lurkers, come and say hello!).

Thanks so much for the lovely 'well done' posts :)

I am feeling much better this morning. I was so tired last night and desperately needed sleep.

So, i am 1/5th of the way towards £5K! Wowza! It feels so great to have been able to start my saving journey. I cannot see any reason why i wont be able to save another £500 by the end of Feb.
When i think about the fact that i have managed to save this money while it also having been Christmas, New Year and my sons Birthday, i am really amazed that i did it! And i didn't feel like i was depriving us of anything either.
Yes, i could have done it quicker and refrained from a certain 'Boot Emergency', but my feet are thanking me now that they are nice and warm and dry when it rains :)

I most definitely have the savings bug!

Before I started this savings jaunt I would have said saving the amount I've managed so far was impossible. It is astounding how much can be squirrelled away with only a little extra thought and effort. I'm sure I could do more, in fact.

Your boot emergency sounded like a boot necessity to me - your feet need to keep warm and dry when it rains :)

Savings bug, me too. Glad you got a good sleep last night. I hope your dreams were appropriately pink and fluffy :)

The healthy eating and dry January is going right off track today...cheesy chips, curry sauce and wine for me tonight :)

Cathy- i would have said exactly the same about the amount i have saved. I am now hopeful that i can also beat my February target.

My DVD player has just decided to give up the ghost tonight. Hmm..where on Earth does that saying come from i wonder? Anyway, i now need to buy a new one, so will be on the look out.

Re saving more than we thought we could, I used to work with a guy who would frequently repeat with a haunted look: "It's impossible to save money in London." But he never seemed to spot that quite a sizable proportion of his income went on fags, booze and the horses!

Haha, oh Cathy i know several people like that! One of my friends said to me this week "I dont understand how you can save so much money when you only earn X amount a month". The answer is simple- I dont smoke, i dont insist on only buying designer clothes (she wont dress her children in anything apart from Debenhams clothes, or surfer labels such as Animal/Roxy, and all brand new), wont use cheap brands (80p for 1k of porridge oats in Tesco, apparently not as good as quaker for double the price).
I mean, each to their own, its her choice to spend her hard earned money on whatever she wants..but dont moan to me that you cant save money!
