    Morning All :)

You've all been busy while i've been sleeping :D

Gallygirl-I'm impressed, what did the man himself say to you?

I am £40 away from reaching my £1000 target for January, which means i'll definitely be able to make it! :j

I am thinking I'll aim for £1500 by the end of February. I don't think that's an unrealistic target to set.

I will HOPEFULLY have some extra hours at work on a regular basis soon. One of the girls wants to cut down her hours (and eventually leave), and i am the only person who has said they wants more hours...so fingers crossed!

Supposed to be going out to lunch with my boys at 1.15, to celebrate my oldest son's 14th (tomorrow), but he is still in bed :D Oh to be a teenager again!

    Have a great day!

Don't be too overambitious, but Feb is 3 days shorter lol.

    Good afternoon All :)

I hope you are having a nice relaxing Sunday?

Today my baby is 14 years old! I cannot believe it. He was awake at 9am on a Sunday for the first time in ages! He wanted to be at Argos by 10am so that he could pick up his PS4..he decided against getting another laptop in the end.
He is over the moon with it!

He had £270 saved from Christmas and money he was given for his birthday, so i put the rest of the money towards it for him. Bless him, he was so excited!

Our meal out yesterday was lovely too, and only cost £37!

So it's been a very spendy 24 hours, but it was planned and expected. You only turn 14 once!

Today i am going to go through next weeks budget, meal plan and work schedule, then see how i can save next week. I am hoping to exceed my £1000 target as all i will have to save is £40 to reach that :)

I have found the secret to saving........don't spend :rotfl:

Seriously, I am spending FAR less money and therefore saving by having my shopping delivered.

Do any of you have home shopping?

    Good Morning All :)

My son had a lovely birthday, thanks Cathy :) He is so happy with his PS4 and is stuck to it like glue when he gets home from school!

TM6-Yep, thats the secret, not to spend :D I live rurally, so only Asda and Tesco deliver food here. I have found them both to be great. Even in very bad weather, Asda have turned up on time! You can get free delivery slots on your first online shop with Tesco too, if you are considering trying it.

What a morning! I woke up to a very icy morning! The car was frozen solid, and i had great fun spraying de-icer into my keyholes! In the end, i had to unlock my boot (the only door that wasn't frozen) and get my 9 yr old to push the doors open with his feet.

When i eventually got into the car, it wouldn't start. I knew this was coming after last week when the battery was diagnosed as dead as a dodo! So luckily got a jump start from a neighbour and have taken it to a local garage who are supplying and fitting a new battery for £67.

This is exactly what i mean when i say that savings, for me, equals security. If this has happened when i was in debt/before i started saving, i would not have been able to afford this without a major worry about how i was going to pay for it. NOW is a totally different story- i CAN pay for it, without any worry, apart from the disappointment at seeing my savings decrese by £67- but that's a small price to pay.

My only concern is that i have had to miss a days work, but my client cancelled anyway, due to the icy roads. I had my private client yesterday, so that makes up for it anyway.

How is everyone doing? Have you woken up to ice too?

hi WantToBeSE! It was very icy yesterday - this morning it's just damp and miserable :)

Getting deliveries from the supermarket is great as if I go there in person I always spend more than I mean to but if you get it delivered you can't do that. I think I will plan to get deliveries from now on.

Too true dat about savings equalling security. :)

    Hi All :)

It's wet here too Cathy, but as long as it's not icy i don't mind. I am not working today, which means i can get the food shopping done instead of rushing around and doing it after work/on the weekend.

Savings- Normally i treat my savings like a direct debit, it goes out as soon as i get paid, so it's not left in my account to get spent.

I have just worked out my budget for the next week (i get paid on Fridays) and will be able to save £60 plus whatever i get paid by the agency (roughly only £56 this week, due to only working Thursday and Friday). So approx £116. That will bring my savings up to £1008.96 :)

I don't mind wet weather either, or icy, if it comes to that. I like the UK, and its weather. Probably weird, but there it is :)
