OK, feeling quite motivated today
. I have decided that i need to steps things up a bit.
So, thinking about what i need to save money for...hold on, will get my list and BRB......
as i said in the opening post of this diary, this is what i need to save:
£1500- Car.
£2000- I desperately want to move house.
£1500-Emergency Pot.
TOTAL= £5000.
Feeling brave, i am going to give myself a deadline. I will still have monthly goals, but i want a 'Big Deadline' (referred to as BD from now on..:D ) to focus and challenge me.
So, I, WTBSE, do declare that i will have £5K saved by the end of July 2014 :eek:0 -

The order in which i need to do this is:
1-Car (almost there now!)
2-Emergency Fund
3-House Move.
The reason being that once i move house, my rent will increase by about £150 a month  HOWEVER, i also know that i can pick up extra hours quite regularly at the agency, especially in the summer time. BUT, once i have moved house, i will be saving at a slower rate due to a smaller income. So i want to have that £1500 Emergency Fund there for me already before i move. I will add to it and wont stop saving, but i will need to give myself more time.
For now though, i am hoping to read more over on the OS board in an attempt to reduce my grocery bill by £20 a week. I might start off by reducing it by £10 a week for the next month though. I spend about £100 a week on food for me and the 2 boys. My teenager eats everything in sight and my 9 yr old isnt much better :rotfl: howver, i like food. I like to eat well (did i say i need to lose 13lbs, Hahaha!) and that costs money!
hold on, phone,,back in a bit..and well done if you have read this far!!0 -

You didn't come back (sobs uncontrollably) :rotfl:"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Good things come to those who wait, TM60
-
WantToBeSE, I've slightly lost track - with the £1,500, do you want to get your car repaired, or buy a new one? ... (by new I mean second-hand, obviously - you know what I mean.)0
-
I want to buy a new one, Cathy. The car i have now is jut a PITA and i have had enough of it0

I am bursting with positivity at the moment..and LOVING it. It makes such a difference to wake up and be full of happy thoughts. No real reason for it
Project Positive Thinking really is doing great things for me
My positives:
-Had a lovely few hours with my 14 yr old son yesterday. The hormones can produce horrid behaviour, so it was lovely to have the nice teenager back for a few hours
-I have a job. I know, it can be a PITA having to get up for work and having no time to do stuff, but after spending almost 12 months being unemployed, going SE (Self-Employed) was the best thing I have ever done. I love it!
-I have savings in the bank. 'Nuff said!
-I really do have 2 lovely kids.
-I am healthy and happy and feel in control of my own life.
Yeah yeah, i'll shut up now0 -
WantToBeSE - another positive to add to your list is:
I am setting my kids a good example!
Well done you. Continue with your savings and enthusiasm.0 -
Thanks organic wanabe, that's a lovely thing to say0
