I do want to know how it pans out in the end. Good luck.
When pricing remember to deduct any and all costs of selling plus a small amt for an easy transaction for their value.0 -

Again apologies for just talking about me on this thread.
I had thought about this, but know he will think I'm being a bit awkward and trying to "shaft" him. But someone also said I should do this, so maybe it's the done thing, haha.
Should I deduct the costs of selling, but half them as if we were selling, we'd each be paying half of the costs of selling if that makes sense.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I wouldn't personally. He is the one who wants to sell.
When you get valuations, ask what offers they would expect to get (not listing price) and what price for a 'quick' sale. This is discounted price you get if you want a sale very fast. Which is what he would want/get. So if the listing price was 250k, the agent might expect offers for 240. And might expect a quick sale of 230. You can split the price to 115, and take off 50% of selling costs expected. Then split the solicitors costs to do the paperwork. Make that offer to him.
Your brother if he expects more would be shafting you really. A quick sale price is fair.0 -

Thank you very much! Very helpful and something I will take into consideration.
I haven't mentioned all this to my brother yet, am biding my time. He didn't want to sell up till next Jan (when his fiancee is out of the fix on her flat), but I'm just looking at all my options.
I need to go back to work full time for a bit to actually acquire the extra mortgage I need.
I'm hoping my boss (work for a solicitor) will do the paperwork. He doesn't like doing conveyancing, but this isn't true conveyancing, just the money bit, so he might be persuaded.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Hi all, hope youve had a nice week.
I'm so glad that Friday is hereit's been a long and rough week at work.
Today I'm going to the park with my little man on his bike then I'm going to pick up my grandma and run some errands with her. Then going to view a couple of nurseries before making a fish pie. Busy day ahead! Looking forward to a chill out day tomorrow.

I have twin 1 home for the WE (he has a consultant's appt monday) and son 1 home too (from hos flat in 'big' town lol.
So that has put my shopping bill over 100, and I got the dine in for 20 from M&S. so not great news really.
And Twin1 was stuck on the ferry for 5 hours thurs nite, when it broke down in the entrance to the harbour (so close yet so very far lol) . Didn't get home to his dinner until almost 11pm0 -
Yay, its Friday! This week does seem to have gone very quickly though.
Not planning much this weekend, mainly just cleaning and tidying my own house, and writing my budget.
I have FINALLY rescheduled my sons blood tests to find out if he is Coeliac. I kept meaning to reschedule it before Christmas, but better late than never! I do hope not, as its expensive and also it'll be a huge change to our diet.
I need to do a food shop, but cant wait until Monday as it is desperate, the fridge has some veg, butter and milk and thats about it!0 -
I'm not sure what it's like at your end, but coeliacs get quite a bit of food on prescription for free here. My friends are pharmacists and they deal with it a lot, theres little catalogues that they pick what they need from.
Glad you have a chilled weekend planned! I'm now 99% sure that my husband is off this Sunday (hooray!!) so I'm going to let him have a bit of a long lie then we are going to treat ourselves to breakfast out at Harvester then do something nice in the afternoon.
Need to do my meal plan and shopping list this morning but I'm severely lacking in inspiration!CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Morning All
Meal plan done, shopping list done, i just need to go shopping!
Talking of shopping- i REALLY need to get a laptop. Mine broke a few weeks ago and i have been using my sons ever since, hoping to save money, but its just not possible to continue doing it. I think i may have to spend a few hundred getting one. I'll put it on the CC and pay off next month.0
