Shopping done, and I spent £45 this week. I know for a fact that I'll have to do a top up shop, as its half term and the kids will eat me out of house and home..looks like atush is having the same problem :D

I just read my last post back, and dont see the point in paying for a new laptop with my CC when i have savings. I know it'll set my savings back by a month, but needs must.

Paying it via your CC will give you up to 36 days free use of their money while yours earn interest?

In any case, a while back I mentioned CCs with perks you cold move to eventually. Such as Cashback cards or cards that give you tesco clubcard points etc. These mean it always pays to put things on a CC.

I am now minus one mouth to feed! He came friday nigth and just left, having soaked me for 2 dinners, 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts. he was supposed to go home this am after breakfast but decided to stay as I was making home made pizza incl the dough and sauce. Just got to get rid of the other now lol.

My boy is only two and I feel like he's already eating me out of house and home! This morning, we treated ourselves to a Harvester breakfast seen as it was my husband's first day off in weeks and N ate a big bowl of fruit salad, a slice of toast and a kids breakfast (sausage, eggs, bacon, beans and hash brown). I'm sure he's due a growth spurt!

Hope you don't need too much of a top up shop this week wtbse, I just paid £50.47 in Aldi but that included a big box of wipes and a baby gate for the stairs in the new house so grocery-wise it'll be more like £29-30. We do still have freezer stuff to use up so was just fresh stuff really.

We had a nice day at the shops today and picked up some bits for the new baby- a new mattress for the moses basket and a hood for the car seat which we lost on holiday two years ago. Also got N some new wellies in the sale for £4 and some tshirt for my husband as he's in dire need of new ones. Expensive day but got quite a few bits done.

I'm knackered now and my back and pelvis are killing so I'm chilling on the couch then will head up for a bath soon.

Can't believe Monday has come around again so soon.

    Morning All :)

Made some pasties and sausage rolls today, so that will hopefully fill the kids up for a bit. I had lots of sausage meat and beef, so freed up some space in my freezer too.

Still haven't chosen a laptop yet, but i think it'll be one from the Argos Outlet on eBay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Argos?category=177&categoryName=PC%20Laptops%20%26amp%3B%20Netbooks

Hoping to drag the boys out for a beach walk this afternoon. They just want to stay in their onesies and watch tv or play computer games.

Sausage rolls and pasties sound lovely, what recipe do you use?

Hope you got out for a nice walk today with the boys. Fresh air would go down a treat!

£150 went into the savings today from husband's overtime, seen as he only did a Saturday this week. Need to go and update my signature now.

    Hi All :)

    Payday yesterday, woo hoo!
Put £100 into savings, paid all of the bills, did some food shopping.

Jo, for the pasties and sausage rolls, i just diced up some beef skirt, onions and potatoes. Then i defrosted some pastry (i know, what a cheat!) and rolled out into circles.
I put large spoonfulls of the beef mixture on one side of each circle, folded the pastry over, and sealed.
Really easy! The kids said that they tasted really nice, so i must have done a good job!
The same with the sausage rolls, just rolled the pastry into long rectangles and filled with sausagemeat and onion.

We managed to get out to the beach, and had a lovely afternoon. The boys are now with their Dad. They went on Thursday and are due back tomorrow.

I am currently trying to transition to a more plant based diet, so have been reading lots about it, and researching recipes online. As well as reducing costs, which isnt the main motivation behind the change, i am hoping it'll help with some health issues i have been having. Nothing serious, just a few niggles that i am hoping it'll help with.

I am not planning on being vegan (i need milk in my coffee!) or even vegetarian (i love bacon sandwiches as much as the next person!), but would like to eat less meat, fish and dairy, and eat more vegetables.

My food shop at Sainsburys came to £53. This was a monthly stock up on things like pasta, rice, beans, spices, milk, and other bits and bobs. Then i also spent £19.27 in Aldi, mainly on fruit, veg, passata, porridge and things like that.
Then i used my £11.50 Tesco clubcard vouchers to get some quinoa, flaxseed, tofu, spinach and brown rice. I only paid £2.64 :)

That should be all the shopping i need for the week :)

That all sounds pretty straightforward to make, might give them a go next weekend. How long in the oven? 30 mins? Juse long enough for the pastry to puff?

Sounds like you got a nice stick of shopping in then, and I hope it all helps with your diet and health. I'm going to be late to the shops today as I'm going to a wedding fayre with my sister. It's going to be awful- busy, cramped, on my feet all day and I've had a sore pelvis this week so that's only going to get worse. Need to paint my positive face on for her.

Did you have a nice peaceful weekend with the boys away?

    Morning All :)

TheBunting- my savings now stand at a pitiful £280. The main reason was buying the business in September, then Christmas and various other spends.
But am back on track now. So should be able to get back to saving £500 a month now :)

I just need to buy this laptop for work, so should do this today.
