35 hours a week for Jobsearch, not possible?

I read on Consumer action Group that a poster posted that she/he needs to do 35 hours Jobsearch a week, how is that possible?
There are hardly any Jobs, some jobs need driving licence (but what if people don't have any licence, do their still need to apply for that positon to avoid a sanction?)
Also what if jobs state need experience and some people haven't? do their need to apply for that position as well?
This goverment really is rubbish, also another poster state that if you can't provide 35 hours a week for jobsearch then you could loose JSA
How is this fair on true JSA claimants who are trying very hard to get into work?
The goverment should tackle cheats then true and honest claimants, and David Cameron said we are in this together, yeah right

A well written job application can take several hours to do, as can tailoring your CV to individual vacancies. Sometimes it's about quality, not quantity.0

What else are they doing whilst the rest of us are working? If you are taking state benefits your part of the bargain is to spend your time actively looking for work not making excuses and blaming the government.0

Excuse me, don't treat everyone who is on JSA lazy with the same brush attitude.
Not so many Jobs about you know, and to your question! lots of people do Jobseeking everyday like me but if there is no jobs to apply, then we can't apply for jobs. it's that simple.
Oh wait, Yeah we can apply for jobs even those that need experience which people might not have and it will be waste of the employers time and the JSA claimants as well who applies.
Are you 1 of them people who thinks all JSA claimants are lazy and dole dossers?
I look on Job sites everyday like Universal Jobmatch, Indeed, Monster, fish4jobs and total jobs, I look in newspapers, I keep in contact with Job agencies 3 times a week.
I apply for about 6 - 7 jobs a day if there is any jobs to apply, I apply for jobs about 40 miles (that's on my JSA Agreement) from me like Manchester, Bury, Bolton ete.0 -
Do you spend much time actually looking for jobs or do you just look at whats advertised?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

But what if there is no suitable jobs to apply?
That is not the only way you apply or look for work
I look at company websites, I try to network on LinkedIn. I also take sections of a map on Google, zoom in and you see companies showing up. I click on the icons to see who they are and look at their sites on the careers pages.
You may never know what you find there. On some you can set up alerts for jobs to be sent to you and if no job advertised or no alert function I try to find a way to email a cover letter and CV to the HR team telling them why I am interested in their company and what skills I have etc asking them to consider me for anything that they may have now or in the future.
I have profiles on Job and Talent, LinkedIn and Gumtree that I update weekly and all other sites I use for job searching (48 sites) I try to update a CV there or my profile once every two weeks.
I also look at things relating to the industry I have the most experience in and that's hospitality. So I look here for example http://www.bighospitality.co.uk/ I look at the movers (people who are leaving so and so and going to another company), I look at new openings and find their sites and look for jobs that way. I have followed a number of chefs on Twitter and sites like https://twitter.com/CatererNews and https://twitter.com/BigHospitality to name but a few.
If I have actual application forms to fill in I download all the relevant documentation into a file with the company name on it. Take a note of the closing date and set aside a half day to fill it all in and maybe when some things need more work like one I am doing online where they are 23 questions on the supporting statement I do a few a day as they want 200 words at least for each example. All this takes time.
I could go on..........oh no please don't :rotfl:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

AP007, just wanted to say I am really impressed with your efforts. It reminds me of a saying I read once, 'The gates of success are surrounded by sweat'. You deserve a fab job. Hope you get one soon.0 -

To all you knockers of the unemployed and your views on how easy it is to get a job.
Does this mans commitment not prove to you just how difficult the job market is? Here is a man doing everything you all say will get him into work but it hasn't.
What do you think the explanation is for that?0 -

Well good for you but maybe you in a big town with lots of Jobs? that is not the case everywhere you know.
I do everything I can to apply for jobs and I always apply for jobs every day but you got to remember there have been job cuts and it was on news a few days ago about that shipyard cuts on BBC News.
Lots of people find it hard when not getting any feedback from Job applications, not just me you know.
Here is the link about the shipyard cuts: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-248272210
