AP007...I don't always agree with the things you post on here but I take my hat off to you for the effort you're putting in to find a job. Your post #8 should be added as a sticky on this board, to show people how it should be done. I hope you find the job you deserve soon.

Because you shouldn't 'benefit' from being 'unemployed'

It is an 'allowance to seek work'

its money you get for being out of work. you need money to live.

Perhaps an idea would be to pay the amount of effort put into seeking work?

No it shouldnt its a right to have benefit and its law. You cant live on nothing.

No there are not enough jobs and I totally agree that you cannot just click and send the same C.V. you have to make sure you are selling yourself to the employer.

yes but everyone else is selling themselves too.

I am sure in China they don't pay staff anywhere near as much as even our NMW.

Have you seen some of the factories in China for example?

get it on a more even keel sort it out. Everything has gone abroad. I dont like the government keeping on at the unemployed person when they can do more/

Why for example wont they pay for more midwives its been on the news this morning. More midwives needed.

Who is going to pay for the new midwives? The people with no ££££???

They are employing more midwives and there are thousands more in training. You can't just magic up some more midwives overnight.

    AP007...have you considered midwifery ;) ?

I have a friend who is training to be one. She left school at 16 with no GCSES so went back to night school recently to get what she needed. She had worked in offices as admin assistants and is in her early 20's and its something she wanted to do but took her a while to get there. On her first year and liking it a lot

Me? A midwife? I can't stand pregnant women (joke) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I expect many of us feel the same way AP. I'd gladly do a weeks 'freebie' if it could lead to something more permanent.

Yeah but it is when 1 trial week turns into another unpaid with no cards close to being on the table because their the employer can say their just still not sure, that isn't motivating in anyway

    Who works for free?

How the Jobcentre allow it I'll never know, this is people's lives being messed with : (
