I was really surprised about the RSVP's. We sent out approx 80 invitations and have received back 60 RSVPS already, even though the date to have returned them is mid July. The stragglers that havent replied yet are family that live down south (I guess not sure if they are coming up yet which is fair enough) and some really badly organised friends. Actually there is one "friend" who loves himself and would be the type of person to not RSVP on purpose but turn up anyways expecting to be fed. Im only inviting him because of OH but secretly hope he doesnt turn up :) haha!

I have someone who I secretly hope doesn't turn up too but unfortunately it's the GF of my future BIL and she's def coming and returned their RSVP straight away. No one in the family likes her all too much and she'll expect everyone to be fawning over her as she's so flipping marvelous in her eyes (read selfish and self-centred to everyone else). Anyway...moving on, I shall not become a Bridezilla over her...even though she's already made the seating plan a small challenge as noone wants to sit with her!

Hopefully you'll get the rest of your RSVPs soon and that'll be one thing sorted and ticked off. Fingers crossed 'friend' can't make it....

I can kinda beat both of those - we didn't invite the Best Mans girlfriend as we can't stand her. It has always been pretty clear from us that we don't get along with her and so H2B and BM always tend to spend time together when neither me or the girlfriend are available anyway but we were honest with him and said we didn't want her there on our day - he was upset about it but understood. So I really don't think there is anyone on our invite list we don't like!

    How mean are we!

Eeek! Date and time twins! Really is a small world :)
We've got 62 in total who've been invited and had RSVPs that cover 19 people. Some I'm expecting not to get a physical RSVP (even though they're included with the invitations) as we see OH's family every Sunday and my brother is over in Oz so don't don't expect him to post his back and I know he's coming anyway!

Originally when I was on track with the invites we put 2nd May but with email issues (my emails weren't being received so things didn't progress as quickly as I hoped) we had it put back to 2nd June (purely because I'm a bit anal about things matching and the RSVP date takes us to exactly 2 months before the wedding lol). We know all the bridal party's families are coming and some of the bigger groups i.e. my auntie and uncle and their 3 adult children plus a spouse, but it's the couples and 3 single people we can't be sure on and it's their RSVP's we haven't got back yet. It's early days though, only posted them on 16th April and we've had a long Bank Holiday weekend in between and people might be checking out accommodation and time off work first etc. Need to get on with posting evening invitations now, must get some addresses first though!

I got my dress from a little place based on a farm (sounds strange I know!) that's literally 5 minutes drive from my house that I didn't even know existed until I started looking for local shops! They don't do alterations there and to be honest it's not THAT big round the bust area but it would look even better if it's adjusted. 36B isn't all that bad but the dress makers obviously expected them to be a tad bigger :o

According to hitched.com it's 100 days until our weddings! :T and

I think we've invited around 75 but expect that some of those won't be able to come so hope to end up with numbers in the late 60's. I think we can safely assume most of them will be coming but I will be chasing for RSVPs as they have to pre-pick their food and the menu is on the back of the RSVP. I always think its a little rude to not send it back - its not like they have to go out of their way, just tick tick tick and put a stamp on it as I self-addressed the envelopes too!

I wouldn't worry too much they do make dresses for big chests - I know I am a bit bigger all around but I am 38H and my dress needs altering too.

I know - that means 99 days today - LESS THAN 100 DAYS!!! This is where is gets scary ladies! My friend from works daughter is due to get married on the 9th August and its quite nice to spread the 'nothings getting done' love so close to 'home' lol xx

  • Hi, I'm getting married on 9th August.

My mum keeps nagging me about the things I haven't done, which as you can imagine is not always welcome! Maybe she has a point.

    Things I've sorted: - and I mean 'I've', not 'we've'! ;-)
    Venue
    Food, drink, menu choices
Handmade invitations (customised Pocketfold Invites kits) posted. They look great, if I do say so myself!

    Wedding night hotel
    Transport - friends/family providing

    Things to be sorted:

Table plan was my worst bit so far, absolutely hellish lol! I thought 50 people (8 of which are on the top table) was a smallish about and would be easy to organise = WRONG! A doesn't like B, B doesn't know C etc!

Madness maybe but only you can decide. I'm a keen baker but I don't think i'll be able to keep a level head that close to the wedding never mind a steady hand. Also as someone on another thread mentioned, if you don't have all the tools already then you end up not saving much money as you have to buy the tools.

    BUT....

buffet not got a clue. looked at a local company who can do savouries for £3 a head which we can then bulk out ourselves with crisps etc and buy gateaus from macro. or just do it all ourselves.
    cakeprobably M&S and decorate myself
favoursshortbread to go in bags and gingerbread men for kids. homemade chocolate hearts if they work out. mini love hearts. table bubbles. not sure how all of these will fit together i need a plan.
make up just doing my own but have had free makeover from bareminerals for ideas and treated myself to some new make up.
hairneed to make an appointment with my salon but as no one knows we are getting married yet i need to wait till june.
cars using own car to get there and leaving it at sisters house im hoping family will agree to transport us home if not need to book a taxi.
flowersim going to buy white flowers from supermarket the day before to put in jam jars.
invitationsfinished these last night just need to print inserts and will be sent as soon as we get back from wedding. im going to write and address them so they are just ready to post.

runaway bride.... There are only 6 of us attending in total so for me the whole thing will be simple. And despite pressures from htb's family we are also refusing to throw a bash when we've done it.
