Afternoon all!
I'm off to Brizzle (Bristol) later on for an overnighter, I'm going to a match.com night and it's an hour away plus I'll be drinking. I am tempted to take my serious LHJ hairspray and 'accidentally' leave it in the hotel room..... :rotfl:No really, what do we think?Good evening!
Why have I not seen this thread before? What a marvellous thing to try and attack my stash. I KNOW I have too much stuff in my toiletries stash. I'll write a LONG list at some point during the week before (potentially) posting it on here. I know I have many weaknesses including shampoo, lovely shower gels.... Argh!
Welcome Vicky, you're in good companyLancôme La Vie est Belle - 2ml sample - this is very nice and I would happily buy a full size some time in the future. I have a 4ml sample in the stash of this.
I got a 4ml sample of this with my last Lancome order and it is gorgeous, so subtle but so lovely, like fresh summer rain (feeling poetic!), it's on my xmas wishlist, there's a cracking gift set of it at Boots which I'm hoping may be reduced before/after xmas....No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Sacrilege!!!
OPI is my absolute favourite polish brand and I do love Stay the Night.
I saw this and didn't dare Google it. I am a complete nail polish addict I'm afraid - my nail polish collection is a whole different story.......:embarasse
I'm currently wearing Washed Ashore by Hare Polish. Don't Google it if you're a sucker for sparkles like me!
I know I love OPI too. I prefer Alcatraz Rocks to Stay the Night.
I googled the Hare Polishes and love the look of the first one on that Tropicals page. Have shut it down quickly though.Good evening!

Welcome. You are not alone in your addiction. It is lovely to see more new faces, welcome.
I have been a little naughty and ordered the Elemis set:o I think I will ask OH if it can be his Christmas pressie to me.
It was such good value that I think it would have been rude to not buy it.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Annoyingly I have woken up with a few spots after going to bed with an itchy face. I'm attributing it to either the Philosophy cleanser or the Elemis PC cleansing balm - both of which I've only started to use in the past few days - as nothing else in my skincare regime has changed
What skin type are you? I found that the Elemis Melting Cleansing gel could make my skin really oily and spot prone so if you have same skin type as me it could the Elemis balm that's doing this. If it is then I'm not going to get along with the cleanser in my new TSV kit.
I tried Philosophy Purity years ago and that actually made my skin tight though it did get rid of the milia I suffered from at the time.rosemary54 wrote: »cold, grey and wet here:(guess which idiot is going for a pedi tomorrow on what is forecast as being the coldest day of the year so far with a risk of snow:eek::eek::eek:....er that,s me of course:(having a shellac mani the following week as off to the Christmas ball so going for sparkly bronze to match long sequinned dress(bought in the sales AFTER last years ball so not yet worn)
the beauty therapist at the salon I go to gave me a tip about nails.one of mine is coming away from the nailk bed which she said looks like a nail infection and she recommended using cuticle oil every day to help them grow strong and more quickly,am also using naikl strengthener at the mo as got a mini in last weeks lucky bag(sadly did not win the huge Elemis set in the raffle:()
Hi rosemary, OPI do a treatment called Fungal Fix which is meant to be good. Might be worth investing in.
I'm trying to get an appointment at weekend to have my toe nails re done with gellish lacquer.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. 2 more UU's
Sachet of Shaders and toners shampoo, last one from my multiple purchase, liked it but have no blonde now, thought I would use it rather than TA
30ml L'Occitane Dry Skin Foot Cream. WNBA perfectly nice, but I am not very scaly of foot and good old Nivea or Vaseline with socks over will do the job a lot cheaper.
For the first time in ages toe nails painted:o China Glaze Paint the Town Red, it seemed awfully thin, but covered fine. It's all San Andrea's Fault out on counter top ready to paint finger nails later (if I remember). The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
My 20th UU, hurrah! And I did a ton of research for my thesis today, and did a science experiment that earned me £20, so I'm in a very good mood!
20. Lush Northern Lights soap. WN snaffle from my friend A, this had a very very weird scent that just wasn't me. Not horrible, just odd. Glad it's gone!
ETA another UU:
21. NSpa Lemon Souffle body cream 75ml. WBA, but discontinued. The last of my old style NSpa stash! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January!UU: 5, IN: 2Total Stash: 99 - ultimate target 33 (year start 99)0 -
VALM - my skin is normal but with a tendency towards an oily t-zone. I've convinced myself the Elemis caused it as I used the Philisophy this morning and my face has felt fine today. Going to persevere with the Elemis until the weekend nevertheless as I really liked it!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0

No UUs today but 2 TAs.
Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion 250ml x 2
These are relics. Was going to use one after my shower, but upon opening it I saw all brown gunk around the hole in the lid!
It was old so I thought I'd use the unopened bottle instead.
Got that bottle out, and although never used, I saw there wasn't a seal over the opening. I decided not to risk it as, due to the fake tan in it, I could end up with strange coloured legs.
WMBA next summer but use up quickly as I don't think this stuff keeps.
Still have some splutterers so hoping for some UUs later in the week.
Oh I also had a near miss again today (sorry can't remember what you call them on here). I had another look at the Rituals body scrub free with Marie Claire. I was very tempted as I had got rid of two scrubs last week AND I love the smell of oranges and this is Orange and Cedar. Anyway, I decided IF they still have it next Monday then I may buy it, if it's gone then it's not mean to be.
Did anyone else buy it? I don't know what cedar smells of so hoping the orange is stronger. Thanks.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

A 'near miss' would be a Near Purchase Incident or NPI, Clutterfree (as opposed to an NBI, which is a Non-Bought In, a gift or freebie).
Orange is one of those scents that I always think I will like more than I actually do.
It all goes back to loving Aqua Manda in the Seventies and nothing since matching it.
Have a look at what I found, when I idly Googled Aqua Manda just now.:j:j:D
UU from Project Pan. Lush Seanik Solid Shampoo. I left the tiny scraps on the inside of the bath in their tin and a shower did for most of them - I got one last shampoo out of them.
WIBA? No, not for a very long day. The shampoo is fine, but I've had it for 2 years. The shampoo bars are particularly irritating in that the blasted tins are such a snug fit, it's almost impossible to get the bar out if it's damp. I am tempted to investigate other solid shampoos though.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Wow! Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I haven't done my list yet, but I did have a peek into the stash to remind myself of what a horrendous task I have ahead.
Probably the worst is my stack of smellies I brought back from our holiday a couple of weeks ago. We were away for 10 days in a lovely hotel and if we (read: I as DH has sensitive skin) didn't use the whole tube of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel etc then they'd put ANOTHER one in the bathroom anyway. So, I started another little collection "for when we go away somewhere" such as staying over at a friend's house. Yeah, yeah. We'll have to stay away for a long time.
I'll have to check out the acronyms.
WIBA - Would I Buy Again??
UU - Used Up?
I'm sure I'll get the hang of things soon...Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
