You set it to turn off usually at 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes intervals. Can be most annoying if you're not yet asleep and watching an interesting programme when it goes off!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
I have 21" LG with freeview. I watch Dave when taking my make up off and generally messing before I switch the lights off.
I love it. My first TV for bedroom was bought years ago when I was ill and our living room has a tiny sofa (it is tiny generally), fortunarely I've never been ill again (to stay in bed longer term), but the TV remains.
No DVD player though. However cable for Kindle Fire or other (if you have any tablet) and Netflix would sort out any movies need... you plug it to tv and off you go.0 -
No tv in the bedroom here, tbh we very rarely watch any tv on the actual tv :rotfl: we're usually watching i-player on the laptop.
If it wasn't for my need to see Downton Abbey and Masterchef on live tv, we wouldn't actually need a tv licence!
My ex insisted a tv in the bedroom was mandatory, since he's now an ex my sleep patterns have improved immensely. Though whether that's due to the bedroom tv going, or him...
I do confess to falling asleep in the cinema though. Virtually every time. :rotfl:0 -

The tv in our living room I think must have a movement sensor as a few weeks ago I left the tv on, went upstairs and fell asleep, and when I went back into the living room it switched back on! And since then I've noticed if you don't press a button for ages it says it's going into power saving mode & will switch off unless you press something.so would go off if you fell asleep but then if you stood up or something it might come back on, spooked me out that first time!0 -

Tesco were selling them below £200 recently. I loved the smart hub and features so much I sold the big TV and bought the massive PS60F5500 for the living room - best thing ever! (I had £700 JL vouchers so it would've been rude not to

Had some supermarket own brand TV/DVD combi before, it was always a pain. Poor picture, terrible remote, terrible UI, eventually the DVD packed in so it was virtually useless. Never buying a combi again.
I agree, stay away from cheap supermarket models and brands you have never heard of.
Spend a bit extra and get a decent "smart TV", then you can stream movies and TV shows without the need for an extra box.
Richer Sounds have very helpful staff and cheap prices0 -
I have an lg 32 inch lcd, a sky box (no sub, just free channels) & a dvd player in my bedroom.
Its NEVER switched on.0 -

Considering my bedroom is also my living room (and kitchen) I don't have a lot of choice about having a tv in my bedroomOk - I can see that if you are poorly then a tv in the bedroom MAY be beneficial. but, unless you are completely bedbound - I still don't fully approve!

I have a 32 inch Samsung in my bedroom and I love it! I've got it high up on the chimney breast in front of my bed. It's on all of the time. Good luck finding a great new TV. Don't forget Amazon and Currys. xx0

Yeah, once we got our plasma, we wall mounted our 32in Samsung and have it hooked up to our Apple TV and PS3.
Now that it’s been getting colder out and since the OH didn’t watch it when I did, we usually go to bed earlier and he can watch Breaking Bad whilst I read a book with my side of the electric blanket on.It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0
