Hubbys card came today! Still not received email or pin for mine though?

When you call to activate card is it automated or do you speak to someone? Hubby hates ringing call centers but if its automated I will activate card for him :rotfl:

It varies, I've had the automated system activate one Capital One card but got put through to someone on another one.

Mine was. Applied Sat 2nd and got the message, received welcome e-mail Wed 6th, PIN Fri 8th and card Wed 11th.

I applied online the same day (2nd) and I also got the "we need to do more checks, usually takes 7 working days" and I haven't heard anything by email or post yet.

So I guess I've probably been turned down, and rejection letter will arrive by post next week.

Yea first part is automated then I had to speak to someone.

They are geared up for people who's it's the first credit card, so they wanted to make sure people are happy.

He was happy to skip over things so it didn't feel as scripted as it could be. Nice service so far, but I was always happy with capital one.

Luma are certainly quick, applied yesterday, got my login details today via email ...
    Well done. :)

Several of us are still waiting for PIN, card etc from earlier applications, in my case 16 days now from approved application.

I called yesterday. It seems that they had system problems a couple of weeks ago which the operator blamed for the delay. She could see everything confirmed including my limit and said she would e-mail the relevant department to expedite matters.

    We'll see.

To give an idea of timescales for people applying - it can take a long time...

Applied online 31 October. Accepted immediately.

Received online login details by email 15 November.

Received PIN by post 16 November.

    Still waiting for card.

I received my PIN this morning :) So just 2 days from when I applied. Faster than Aqua.

I wonder what the chances of receiving my card next week will be?

This card may be marketed at those with poor credit history (depending on which specific webpage you look at), it doesn't stop those with impeccible credit ratings applying (and being accepted)

I applied last Saturday (9th November). Got accepted online after about 60 seconds. Confirmation said card would be posted to me in 7-10 working days.

Got all my online details on Tuesday by email. The maximum £1.5k credit limit on application confirmed.:j You see this when you log in. (I said I would accept £300-£500 as a minimum limit when I applied) PIN arrived in the post on Thursday saying the card will be with me "soon".

Was hoping it might have arrived in this morning's post, but alas no, so I'll have to hold off my spending for a few more days. Bread & dripping for us in the meantime. :D

Presumably those who do not get accepted online, but get told extra checks are needed (possibly to do with recent/frequent changes of address?) are the ones that are mainly experiencing the delays whilst those additional checks are being carried out.
