Hang on in there. It took my acceptance much longer than that to come through.

    Thanks Biggles.

    Yep, and me.

With 'fringe' outlets (Budgens is one I have in mind, though someone has mentioned 'Express' & 'Metro' type supermarket branches) is there anywhere I can look to see what code they will come up with, so that I can use a different card there if they aren't going to qualify me for the 4%?

Their head office may be able to but other than that there is no real way of finding out until after you have made a spend and it shows on your on line account. Maybe a £1 spend to test the water.
  • Applied for this after the news about the aqua reward card ending and got rejected for some reason

So instead I've applied for and been accepted for an Asda card. Only 0.5% cashback though (same as aqua will be) but 1% on asda shopping and fuel so worth it for us for the extra half a percent.

Not as good as 4% though :o. Odd to be rejected for a supposedly easy card to get, then be accepted for an asda card with a 2500 starting limit.

Presumably those who do not get accepted online, but get told extra checks are needed (possibly to do with recent/frequent changes of address?) are the ones that are mainly experiencing the delays whilst those additional checks are being carried out.

Not true - you're making quite a lot of assumptions there. I was accepted well over a week ago and am still waiting for email/ paperwork. Also been at the same address for 5 years.

I applied on 2nd, and have received no post or email yet. When I rang them last weekend was told I had been accepted a few days after I applied. Apparently they had had some technical issues which had delayed further processing of my application.

I received my email a couple of hours after posting, so I imagine yours should be on the way.
  • Just done first shop with hubbys card :j, Mine still not arrived yet despite applying a few days before! I did call yesterday to chase again and apparently they had a glitch and some applications have been delayed ;)

Got a paper credit agreement to sign through the post yesterday - so 7 working days as they said. I'm assuming they have sent this as they have changed something from the online one but i can't see anything dramatically different.
One thing I did notice is is has an annual fee - which is currently £0. this implies it could change in the future so that's something watch out for
