Family cut themselves out of my son's life

Wiggy - once again I can say I am so proud of you! 'Aunty Meri' wishes she lived closer so she could help you more and actually SHOW you that REAL, NORMAL FAMILIES don't behave like your mother and your experience of family life!
I think you knew deep down it wasn't normal - and your decision to go it alone and give your son a normal loving home was brave and I salute you - I really do!
never mind those sporting 'heroes' or the 'pop heroes' - YOU are my hero!
now put the madwoman out of your mind and enjoy your life!0 -
Wiggy, you aren't insane, trust us on this. My father tried to do a similar thing to my mother, he tried to convince her that she was not a fit mother and was going mad by hiding things.
It sounds as though he was something of an amateur compared to your mother, I'm sorry to say.
You are doing very well, Wiggy, I do hope that your mother has fully understood the message that the police gave her, but I would, in your position be looking at getting an injunction the cheapest way possible to have the full protection of the law. I hope you, Wiglet and Wagalot have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -

So many people in here are in full support of you and what you are doing, myself included, you and Wiglet can now concentrate on having your first little Christmas and start making your own traditions!
You are NOT MAD. None of this is your fault, you have done NOTHING wrong. Your Mother has made you think that anything that doesn't conform to her way of thinking is wrong for so many years, so now you are doubting what you are doing. You are protecting your little boy, that's the end of it. You are his Mother and that's what Mothers do.... what NORMAL Mothers do.
If your Mum really had doubts about your mental state, she should have tried to help, and get you help. She didn't, she kicked you while you were down and tried to take your baby away, she enlisted the help of your own siblings to try and convince the authorities that you were unfit to look after Wiglet. I still cant comprehend this.
I totally agree with everything people have said about how you don't know what is "normal", your Mums behaviour is all you have known, but trust me, she is not worthy to be labelled a Mum. YOU ARE. More than worthy. You protect your son with every fibre of your being. You have cut people out of your life, you have started again. You have done all this to protect Wiglet and you should be proud.
The best part about you? The way you have acted during this whole process. Yes, you have been scared, but you have composed yourself so admirably. I think if it were me, I would have done someone a serious injury by now LOL but you have acted fantastically! You have kept a level head, and even though you have been afraid (who wouldn't be???) you haven't let it get the better of you.
Cant wait to hear all about your first Christmas as a little family!! xxx
Amen Wiggy!
Hugs

Wiggy, get a cat.
We need Wagpuss.
Oh, and have a lovely Christmas, all of you.:)0 -
I have read this thread from start to finish. As someone who has had to do many of the same things to protect my child from a toxic relationship, I applaud her courage and her steadfastness in reinforcing her boundaries.
No matter what has to happen, as long one acts within the law every mother has the right to protect her child from perceived harm.
There is no reasoning, negotiation or mitigation possible with a manipulative person. Open the door even just a chink and they will enter like a twisted missile and pursue their own agenda.
Keep your peace within your own walls and keep that wall well defended. Allow in only those that nurture you and help you grow.
Harm can and should remain outside.0 -
Hows preparation going for your little Xmas Wiglet? xx0

We're doing great, looking forward to next week. I decided on a turkey crown (1kg) that cost £8 something so hopefully ASDA doesn't mess up my order when it comes and I end up with something stupid like a goose!
Oh and I can't get a cat- the dog doesn't like things that squeak/move fast/are cat-like
Wiglet is still seeing dad and going well there, they're getting on and seem happy. I'm sending the parcel tomorrow of xmas presents to my nan, including nephew's birthday and Christmas presents (two days apart) and some for sisters. Hope it's accepted, as it is addressed to my nan, and its ok to send it to her house still, isn't it? Nothing addressed to mum or for her either?Up and onwards to the future!
