Afternoon everyone, how are you? I'm having a grumpy day today  I can't find my purse anywhere. I have three purses and the one I've lost is my Mystery Shopping Float purse - some of my Mystery Shopping visits require a purchase which gets reimbursed or sometimes I need to pay for car parking etc and I keep this money separate from my real money. Well, I did a few jobs yesterday and when I got home last night I couldn't find it. It has around £40 in it plus the receipts for yesterdays jobs which I can't do the reports on without. Grrr!!!!! I know where I last had it, which suggests it should be either at home or in my car and it's in neither! Jobs have been cancelled and money has been lost. Oh, and it also had a £20 Waitrose voucher and £25 Tesco Gift Card in it. Super Grrrrr :mad::mad:
Other than that all's good! I spent £1 parking my car at yoga last night and didn't find any coins lying around so it was a spend day after all. Just to be sure, I popped into Wholefoods on my way home and topped upon some fruit/veg/lentils/goodiesI'll update the totals later but I spent £27ish and I have enough food to see me through til next week, maybe even til halfway through the month.
I'm super happy because I suggeted to Wholefoods a while back that they add a vegan version of their chocolate nut butter (they have machines that you can make your own peanut, cashew, hazelnut, almond etc butters- great fun and super healthy cos there are just nuts in the machine!). They used to have a milk chocolate and hazelnut version which has now been replaced by a dark chocolate and hazelnut mix which is suitable for us pesky vegan folksI made a small tub of it (it's seriously good and my waistline didn't trust me with a large tub!) and had it on toast for breakfast- mmmmmmmm
If you're gonna spend money, spend it well
I'm off out again earning money this afternoon so I'll update later, just wanted to rant about my lost money!0 -
Hugs to those that need 'em. Hope you find that purse Siouxsie, it'll turn up in the most unlikely place I bet.
I've left my debit card at home for the second day in a row which means an enforced NSD...again!0 -

:eek::eek: - WHAT!!! That's what you can do with all those dispenser thingies.....??? I remember seeing them and not having enough time to have a proper look. I might head there again tomorrow which is a spend day for sprouts (alfalfa not brussels) and see what else I can see... that SO COOL!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. HELLO!!:wave::wave:
Well now I am late checking in for the day cause I kinda got distracted looking at foody sites! I would like to jack in work and cook all day... and bake goodies etc but I am starting to see how expensive it "could" get if I wanted all those weird ingrediants that are out there. Anyone heard of abodo sauce - well I am going to make it soon!
Anyway... am at work until 1930 ish and am in for another SFD. Which is good cause tomorrow is a spend day. I need to visit Wholefoods as mentioned by Siouxsie but then it might waste time as I need to use the gym ( possibly could do that at work) and then do a simple food shop for some basics.. bananas, spinach. and not much else... I knew all that mad food buying last week would last me ages... So perhaps I can maneovre a few things tomorrow and still get home by 1600.... we shall see...
So I have more overtime this weekend... It will be a killer so I shall apologise now. I have a shift on Saturday from 2300-0700 and on Sunday I start again 1500-2300 with only a few hours sleepy time.. but it has to be done.. I still need to earn money this month which will come through in January and December's overtime will come through in Feb... no rest for the wicked apparently...
My 5-year sabbatical from work is currently going through the process of approval - fingers crossed....
There seems to be some naughty puddy-tats here this morning.. cable chewing and general stinginess towards Christmas. People think I am a self-harmer with all the scratches on my arm from Duchess Dorothy of Mog which makes me think these moggies are out to thwart our debt busting habits and have ganged up together just to be annoying - cause mine chewed through two pairs of headphones.... I was not impressed!!! Maybe that Cravendale ad was right.......“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Hey everyone,
Sorry to hear everyone is feeling so:mad: and  , on top of that the weather is so miserable it brings you down no matter what, so sending you all :grouphug: x x
I've had two bits of good news today that's really lifted my spirits or I'd be right there with you.....I passed my fitness test so can go back to play with my friendsand completely out of the blue I had news that a long forgotten PPI claim had been upheld and Barclays will be paying me a minimum of £700 maybe more :j:j:j
I've felt really guilty that my OH was doing so much OT to help pay off our debts so these two bits of good news have definitely evened the score, especially since the PPI money will be spent paying off their CC!
NSK - It sounds like your spot on and that you have insider knowledge, looking at your shift pattern and upcoming 'career break' I think I can see where your intel comes from
Another no spend day today so that's the score up to 6. My only worry with being back to full duties, it means I do the same shifts as the OH and therefore have the same time off....that's the point where we get bored and end up doing things that cost us money (hence most of the debt we have!).
Must be disciplined :A:rotfl:
Take care of yourselves

Okay so it's not just me that is feeling a little bit "meh" then.. I swear some grubby little so and so who was coughing and spluttering near me the other day passed on her germs... UGH!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Hi All,
Yesterday was a spend day as I had to visit Boots for shampoo and showergel. Bought own brand stuff though which was much cheaper than I usually spend. £7.69 out of beauty budget. I also popped into Sainsburys and bought some almond milk and coconut drinking milk. These last for ages though and as I try and limit dairy they are my saviour really. £2.88. Also went to the gym.
Today has been a NSD and I am off to the gym in a bit. I will update my proper totals tomorrow as I have the day off. I will need to buy a prescription but that's about it I think. Quidco emailed me today to say they are paying me £5.00 this month and I will try and list some stuff on ebay tomorrow as well.
This thread is certainly making me think twice before buying.**Barclaycard - £11,120.71 ** Virgin CC - £2127.17**

Hi,
Sorry not updated for a few days.
I've had 2 spend days. Monday when I had to get some food in to tide us over (mainly milk, bread and fruit as I still have things in the freezer) and pay DS2 dinner money (DS1 had saved some money and paid for his college travel this week). Today was also a spend day as I had the dentist and a lovely bill of £47 ~ still I thought it would be around that so I had the money saved and it was paid in cash.
Tomorrow should be a sfd, Saturday DD1 has a haircut and then next Monday is the opticians. I don't think I'm going to make the 25 sfds but I'll get as close as I can.
Have a lovely evening all

Well I've emerged from beneath my rock to announce SFD no 6!
I have arranged a late 12 hour overtime shift for tomorrow which will result in another SFD and cover money made for the month. :T
I am making good progress to date. I have a further 36 litres of fuel to last me the next 23 days which I believe is ample. I have enough food in my cupboards, fridge and freezer to last the course and have a T£$co voucher for emergency necessities. I am amazed at how well my home made bread has lasted in a sealed freezer bag, stored in my bread bin! I will most definitely be baking more of my own in future! :T
I have been off line for a few days but have managed to skim through all your tales and exploits! First of all, Happy belated Birthday wishes to Mrs Toast and EyesWideOpen! All good people are born in November.
PiggyBankShaker Hope your mum is feeling better and keeping her spirits up after her treatment.
NSK Good to hear that you are dealing with the unexpected news (of you and puss having to move on) in such a positive way. Have you considered moving to the outskirts of London/ county borders where it may be that little bit cheaper to rent?
Fmess I admire your perserverance for making money! I think teachers should be paid for the extra dedicated hours they put in to teach children. If you have the time, would privatre tuition for an hour or so a week be possible to earn extra income? On a different note, I'm not sure of your financial situation but if you have credit card debt, would a 0% balance transfer to another credit card free up monthly interest for you?
I consolidated all my debts into a low interst loan 18 months ago. Im not sure this was the best decision because I will have paid £800 interest when my last payment will be made next month. But Ive stuck with it! And made generous over payments to get rid nof the blasted thing! It gave me great pleasure to contact the bank for a settlement fee figure on the eve of each payday.. Somehow knowing the amount of actual debt rather than the figure showing on my bank account made it seem less overwhelming!
I'm going to sign off for now to make my tea and catch up with the rest of the thread! Hope you all have a lovely evening!Ninja Saving Turtle
