NSK Good to hear that you are dealing with the unexpected news (of you and puss having to move on) in such a positive way. Have you considered moving to the outskirts of London/ county borders where it may be that little bit cheaper to rent?
Yes I have but the further I move out the more expensive travel becomes. It's already at £200 a month. What I would save in rent I would pay in travel especially if I go outside London - however a friend of a friend has a box room close to where I am. I just need to see it and make sure that my bike would be safe as it's the dodgy end of town and I might consider it although it would be a move a lot sooner than I wanted - but £300 including bills... down from my current £470... so all is not lost. Best thing is puss is welcome. Shame they don't know she's a thug! :rotfl:“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Clippy Girl used to have chewing problems with the house bunny, now become a garage/garden bunny. Pain in the the neck chewed my sky cable and skirting boards.
Well think I might be breaking the rules here but haven't spent any money on food so far this month so bought a dress out of that money pot. Well need a xmas outfit and at 27 pounds bargain. Food reckon I can still come in at 100 this month as my freezer is looking full still. Will put it in my food till Kat finds out eeek.
Made hot pot the other night, great suggestions folks, added dark soy sauce and brown sauce. Tastes wicked who needs red wine. Lots left so tea sorted next two days and scrummy beetroot to go with it.
Lovely sunny day here, off this afternoon so outside jobs getting done. No spending planned.
Traveller what is a 30 day shred? Have I not read back enough on here?
just curious is it a diet thing or heaps paper shredding.
Have a good sfd folks
Hi, the 30 day shred is a fitness dvd by Gillian Michael. I do watch it on youtube though. I'm by no means into fitness, but I could do with shedding a few pounds, lol and I do feel better after doing it

I am also feeling a bit miserable. Normal procedure would be send send DH to shop for wine or chocolate. Anyway he's not here so ate a pear instead - baa humbug.
Just about managed to scrape a nsd today. DH spent some money on Christmas presents but I'm not counting that as it's all budgeted for and frankly I want to get at least one more nsd during this challenge.
Spendy day tomorrow though - need to get food for sons party.

Nearly a quarter of the way there now!
Had my first food spendy day of the month, and went a little wild! Oopsie!
Also remembered that I'd joined the 52 Week Money Challenge where you save £1 the first week, then £2 and so on up to £52. I chose to start at £52 and work backwards, so in November I need to pay over a total of £166. AND I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THIS WHEN I SET MY NOVEMBER BUDGET AND THEN PAID £500 INTO SAVINGS!
Oh well, on the plus side, I will simply need to be extra extra EXTRA careful for the next 23 days! And that is the point of all this, isn't it? I can almost feel some of the more hardcore members of this, who have been with NSK along the journey, nodding sagely as I learn a lesson!
I am very grateful for internet banking, the gorgeous autumn colours ouside, an adorable dd and a loving dh. I have a warm, waterproof house chock full of stuff! I am rich indeed.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Been a long day so just a quick update. Not a SFD as had to pay £7 taxi as needed to be somewhere before first bus would have got me there...but that was only spend for the day.
Next three days as predicted are going to be spendy days as weekend away. Has been booked for ages, i've planned the days carefully, got vouchers for meal out etc and cheapest possible train tickets. So that will bring me up to 5 spendy days (but those 3 days will be from holiday budget) Aiming for minimum spends after that...not practical to get 25 SFD but i'm aiming for 23 and determined to get there.

Aw.. judging your avatar photo I find it hard to believe she's an evil puss really..
I hope the box room works out for you both! Its a big saving for you each month and by living in the same vicinty, it shouldnt be too disruptive for work and your lifestyle.. Maybe a decent alarm, heavy duty chain and a bike cover will help make your motorbike safe and deter any prospective thieves
And cheers for the heads up on Philomena! I too watched Blue Jasmine which left me feeling rather erm..blue..lolNinja Saving Turtle

Checking in after a couple of spend days  and only one was planned. I've had a SFD today though so that makes 3. I have a lot of things for sale on fb but not got much interest at the moment but here's hoping. Should make at least £40 plus my old pram which is another £40 & DH has been doing overtime the last couple of weeks. He should have done 2.5 hours this week which all adds up. I'm not sure how much extra he'll get though.
I am planning a SFD tomorrow so I may make 5 by the end of the week :rotfl:
