Ryanair should never be congratulated for anything they are a pure money hungry company who are always looking at ways in which they can charge passengers more money. Think of the amount of revenue they make by printed off a boarding pass and charging customers 70 for a piece of paper. Joke of a company I would dearly love to see them go bust and close forever

Take it you don't drive, have a bank, use energy, go on holiday or go shopping?

But in case you missed the first economic lesson in life here goes...

#1 Companies exist to make money.
  • yes I understand that - but I do not agree with the way in which Ryanair rip off customers. They are a disgrace of a company...

Ryanair are, and will continue to make improvements for passengers in the coming months.

Even O'Lairey has had to acknowledge that as the price differential between Ryanair and its competitors has decreased, then people have chosen other airlines.

They used to allow a piece of hand luggage and a duty-free bag when flying from Bournmouth airport, but I haven't flown from there in the past 3 years so it might have changed.

They've been charging for large hand luggage on spirit air in the US for a while, so you have a point.

  • MOL has already said he'd love to charge for hand luggage but thinks it'll be very tricky.

Not that anything 'tricky' has ever put him off.
  • In my opinion Ryanair is the best budget airline in the UK. I have flown with them many times and never had to pay any of the "Extras" people moan about. If you stick to the rules then there fares are the cheapest around. If you don't need hold luggage you dont pay for it, simple. Ryanair have made many improvements over the last few years and allowing an extra bag onboard is excellent news. You have to remember that this is a budget airline and you get what you pay for. If you want more luxury, use another airline.

Charging for cabin baggage would make no sense and would be an unfair commercial practice. Its sole purpose would be to legitimise a misleading indication of price, i.e. allowing headline fares to be reduced but with an "optional" extra that nearly all passengers have to buy. Given that airlines don't handle cabin baggage, it has no cost to the airline. And before anyone cites the extra cost of fuel of a 10kg case, if an airline would surcharge for that, then it would equally have to surcharge obese passengers who carry much more than 10kg in additional body weight.

Those doing day trips and overnight trips would be ok with the space under the seat in front of them for a small/medium bag. I've done plenty of these. There's a significant number who wouldn't need to have to pay to put large hand luggage in the overhead locker.
