Local weather station in west Cornwall just reported their lowest pressure reading this year (984.1)- and it's still going down!

Rainfall 21mm - highest daily total this year too.

Temperature rising, but wind may have peaked an hour ago.

They said earlier that the worst of the storm would miss Cornwall.
The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

  • oh well, I had my 3 hours sleep and I`m downstairs. It is pelting down and pitch black, so no idea what else is going on except that the barometer is down 6 since I went up to bed

Have refilled 2 big flasks and made a mug of chamomile and will probably knit yet more socks.

Exciting and scary at the same time

Well it is blooming gusty out there now! In East Devon and blowing a gale. Not sustained, but very strong gusts. Sort of want to go to sleep but don't.

    Stay safe.

  • I'm watching the Exmouth webcam at http://www.exmouthcam.co.uk/webcam/. The lights along the seafront are dancing around a bit!
  • there no strong wind here in SW yet or at leats in my area , not even gusts there some pretty big rain droplets though. I guess the worse is to come.

Just took the last of our bin bags up to the footpath for collection in the morning. Hubby was supposed to do it but he went to bed and forgot... anyway, its raining here in the West Midlands but no sign of any unusual weather, increased winds or anything.

We will see what happens overnight.
