Its rainy but very calm here still - I don't expect it to 'kick off' for a couple of hours yet - and wont be awake probably! got up really early and had a busy day - so am 'cream crackered' and about to go to bed!

Right, decided to make the most of the "calm before the storm" so off to bed before the wind wakes me up at stupid o'clock.

It's my bin day tomorrow too, will listen out in the morning for them.

Also meant to be having someone look at my drains 8.30am, guess they may cancel.

Can't decide if I should cook a chicken lattice now, just in case if the electric goes off.

Quiet here still but i'm up north so not getting it as bad as a lot of you. Having said that it's always windy where I am so we are more used to it. Not one bin out round here and streets very quiet. Someone said it wouldn't get to here until around 3am though.

Cat isn't going bonkers thinking about it, she usually goes flat out hairing around house prior to a storm stopping suddenly with crazy stare. She's quite calm.

Edit i'll get it later then according to news.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Guys - in west Cornwall the wind has arrived. Will give some figures in a minute. It looks like the Met Office may have got this one right.

55mph just recorded in the Scillies and at RAF Culdrose. It arrived quite suddenly at 10 pm.

Thanks OMO she's been in touch with the tour company and monitoring the situation with the trains and the weather all afternoon, she's got to go to the station tomorrow whatever happens and take it from there, I think it's going to be a long and hasseley day for her and the rest of them, poor things.

Eurostar cancelled until 8am tomorrow. :(

OH and DS flying out from Birmingham tomorrow morning with a bit of luck. They might be alright except they are flying to hamburg which is also in the path of the storm. OH was trying to get a Eurostar but they were all fully booked so a lot of stranded people tonight
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    West Wilts.

Just walked round to the shop. Wet, wet, wet but still and calm as anything. Eerily quiet!

It's been blustery all day but at the moment there is not a breath of wind! Perhaps we've got it all to come...
