It compares sitting on the toilet and failing to perform with being in a relationship and failing to commit.

  • Oh if I found myself single again I definitely wouldn't co-habit with someone that soon now. I suspect the benefit of age and wisdom has made me less impetuous than I was at 23. Plus I'm more set in my ways!

Really, I dont really like living alone. I would rather be alone than unhappy, but ideally, I like to live with a partner & be happy. I like the company & mutual support.

Circumstances forced me to move in with OH - and despite someone saying that it wont work if that happens not in my case ;) 6 years and 9 months later I'm still here!!
I was living in a hole of a rented flat in not the greatest of areas in shall I say another city in the East Midlands ;) my landlady decided to do a runner to the Caribbean without paying any of the bills so me and my housemate had to sort something out. He moved to Sheffield and I asked OH if I could stay with him until I got myself sorted as I lost my temp job at the time. I didn't start working in a stable job until about 6 months later but it was only part time and at the time OH's disability meant he was becoming increasingly dependent on me. So I stayed - and I'm still here :)

I would hate to think of myself living alone without a partner but I know now I wouldn't rush to move them in after a month like I did with my OH. Ideally, they'd have their own place and I'd have mine.

As my OH has pretty much always worked nights I've got used to having the bed to myself 5 or 6 days out of 7, plus living with 4 blokes, I long for the day I come home to house that looks the same as I left it in the morning!
