No, prefer the randomness of the curve of the branches I find with a few leaves on than a dead tree. Looks more romantic and magical and dingly dell-ish than than some poor 'especially grown for uniformness' potted effort.
Fairy snuff. One thing I don't get, the Christmas trees we used to have when I was a child, used to have a lovely smell, they don't seem to have that any more or is that my faulty memory?
I'm not the only one then. I've tried several species of tree now but haven't been able find one which rekindles childhood smell memories.0 -

although the idea of it appearing overnight is cute
It's what my mum did for me growing up. It meant that she could decorate it in peace.
It was great to come down in the morning and the lights and the decorations were up.
DD is going to be making some decorations for the fairies to put on the tree.Proud to be dealing with my debts

I also have 6 cats who love playing football with baubles, one year I bought a lovely fibre optic tree from aldi, but they knocked it over so often it packed in.
Might buy myself a fibre optic tree this year and put it in my bedroom.
There were some sad cases around here who had trees up in October, seriously, some people might as well just keep the tree up all year round.0 -

My daughter is insiting a tree is up for xmas dinner.
Actually I do like those minimal style twig trees you see in posh shops at Christmas.0 -
Trees always used to go up on christmas eve as far as Im aware.
In my mums day anyway. I honestly cant bear when I see people with a tree up in November, its getting earlier and earlier. I do think you lose something of Christmas if the tree goes up far too early, but hey, I dont put a tree up every year, neither does my mum, last year I bought a tree from poundland for a quid
Im not bah humbug about christmas, just dont see the need to start celebrating it so early.
I love my tree and twinkly lights though, I'd have it up all year round if I thought I could get away with it.

1st of December. And then it comes down on 6th January (the epiphany.) The Christmas season doesn't start for us til 1st December ... There's always a few people who have trees and lights and decorations up by 1st November!
We start eating the Christmas food around 2-3 days before Christmas day...0 -
Our always went up 12 days before Christmas and came down on the 30th as Mum liked the house tidy for the new year. I kept this going when I moved out, but have been known to take it down on Christmas night before...lol
Think it will be super early this year as our wee one is just getting to know Christmas and Santa...;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Used to be the first weekend in December but my little boy was born on 13th (was due on 30th Nov!) so there is no way I will put the tree up before his Birthday now. Also his Birthday weekend will probably be quite busy so We will probably put it up on an evening he is into EVERYTHING so i love the idea of the tree fairy! I imagine I will put it up a week before from now on, it makes me feel quite sad lol but usually it's always down on the 27th so I may leave it up until new years eve.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0

Friday 13th this year!
My brother was born on the 13th too, its usually the prime weekend for work/office Christmas parties apparently, so he just goes along to his, announces its his birthday and gets a lot of free drinks from colleagues. A tip for the future.0
