When do you put your Christmas tree up?

I absolutely love christmas, spending quality time with my family enjoying good food and company. Love seeing my children and the magic of it all. We put our tree up every year on the last weekend of November!!!!. I like the tree to be up ready for the children opening their advent calendars. me and DH work alternate shifts so its difficult to do this mid week so its always worked out to be that weekend.

This year however we are away till 2nd November so im contemplating putting the tree up bare. Then decorating on our return from holiday with all our new decorations I will certainly be purchasing on holiday.

I know poeple who don't put their tree up till a few days before christmas which is fine. Its their tree, their house, their choice. Same as its my house, my tree, my choice . Im not hurting anyone, but for me it allows the magic of christmas to build up to the big event and last longer.

We always aim for up and the 12th of December and down on the 12th of Jan, but if it's a week day we go for the closest weekend to the date so we have the whole day to do it

On Christmas Eve.
Take it down when it starts looking shabby (we always have a real tree).

We have a 6ft artificial one and I put it up 1st weekend in December. It comes down 1st weekend after new year.

Always at weekends as I have more time to mess about.

We only have a tree though no other decorations.

1st day of advent, so 4 sundays before chrimbo. it comes down a little early though, normally the 2nd of jan. Artificial one.

Mine (artificial) goes up on 23rd December - a few hours before the parents turn up - and everything is stored away by noon on the 27th when they've left :rotfl:
I really don't care about Xmas tree & decorations but my mum would be absolutely livid I didn't put any up (she loves the stuff, her OH however is like me and would happily do without)

I would put it up on the first and take it down the day after boxing day and hubby would rather it went up on xmas eve and came down in January.

We usually put it up part way through Dec and take it down the day after boxing day
