I am with O2 on a low off-peak tariff £15 pm. I am due an upgrade and so phoned O2. Was offered the N95 at £249.99 on my current tariff. I really want the N95 but not at this price!
O2 have placed me in Band A (low monthly spend), I am just wondering is it worth me playing the "Retentions" card? Or is this as good a deal as I can reasonably expect? I would probably settle for the phone being offered at £200.

As I understand it, a lot of retentions offers are based on usage. IE if you use the phone a lot, earning o2 a lot of £££ they'll be a little more flexible. Unfortunately it sounds as if that's not you, so you could get naff all... I moved to voda...

Just ordered my free N95 through vodafone. (Have been with them for 7 years)
Spoke to Ben first and the best he could offer me was the phone for £240 even if I upped my contract to £35. Quite strange I thought but he said he would put me through to retentions who he thought would have a bit more slack but still would be doubtful that they would be able to provide the phone for free or get close to the dialaphone deal I mentioned with 02 (free phone, 18 month contract, 600 mins 500 texts). Ben also said that this was the most returned phone ever. 70-80% of people returned it for 1 reason or another. A ploy to get me to change my handset (I hope!)
I then spoke to Gemma and explained I wanted a free phone etc. After a bit of toing and froing she came up with either £50 for the handset on an 18 month contract or free on a 24 month contract. When I asked about having to change the tariff (I am currently on an extinct tariff, 200 anytime, 250 texts and stop the clock at £25) she said i would be better staying on the tariff I was on and the phone would still be free! I thought the only way I would get a free phone (Basically from ANY service provider) is to upgrade to a £35 tariff. I hummed and hawed about the 18month or 24month contract but decided on the free handset. Other people may prefer paying the £50. Anyway I am getting the free car charger which comes standard and I hit her for an extra battery if possible. She wasnt sure and went away to check and came back saying they'd got a delivery of extra batteries and that would not be a problem. So i am delighted with vodafone's customer care today. Both staff were polite and friendly and as far as Im concerned, done me proud. Dont know if mentioning the dialaphone deal had any bearing on the outcome. Also get 3 months free insurance which I will cancel before the £6.95 charge begins. Phone will be with me on Tuesday. Didnt even get to the asking for the PAC code bit.
Thank you Vodafone!0 -

That is a rip off. You can buy a brand new N95 for around £270 on ebay. O2 aren't really giving you an incentive for being an existing customer.0 -
How good is the N95?0

Phoned up O2 today and asked for my PAC Code (retentions number on sayno0870 site). Anyway, the guy went 'why are you leaving' and i said 'Orange offered me the N95 for free on a 12 month contract for £30 a month with 300 minutes and 400 texts' (which was lies). He then offered me:
12 month contract
Free Phone
400 minutes
1000 texts
Memory Card
£30 a month
I went, 'alright then' :rotfl:
!!!!!!! hell, that's a brilliant deal, will try that myself next week:beer:0 -
Hi. Ive been offered the following from CPW O2:
Free N95 (clearance)
400 mins, 500 texts
£35 month (12 month contract)
Has anyone managed to squeeze anything better out of CPW O2?
Does anyone know the best deal for an N95 on t-mobile with web & walk (for approx £35 month) - as far as I can see, only t-mobile offer suitable data tariffs if you want to use all the functionality of this phone.0 -
I have given up looking for a good deal with the N95 included, it's just more expensive than buying a contract and phone separately. I only have until tomorrow morning to get my contract sorted, any later and I risk the phone getting delayed with the postal strike disruption and then losing both PAC and paying an extra months rental to O2 as a result.
I'm looking at paying the £320 approx for the phone SIM Free, then going for any one of the 12 months free 12 months contract deals via onecompare.com or moneysupermarket.com and going down the cashback route. Trying to find a cheap deal with the mins and texts I want with T-Mobile and basic Web 'n Walk thrown in is just working out too expensive.
Maybe someone may be able to phone up T-Mobile to get a good deal, but I need my phone unlocked from the outset and can't afford to wait the two months for T-Mobile to get me an unlock code as I'm going on holiday and want to take my new phone with me.
From moneysupermarket.com the cheapest reasonable deal looks to be £44 a month for 12 months for Flext 35 although the figures are a bit misleading as they quote the £180 a month allowance to give 200 mins and 1400 texts. £34 a months gives you I think 75 mins and 25 txt and there are other contracts at that price for huge amounts of off-peak minutes.
H.Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0 -
got one from t-mobile today.
£42.50 for 12 months
35 flex web N walk.
with momery card and car charger.
The guy in the shop reckon i've got a very very very very good deal apart from i won't get it if my boyfriend would give me a break about it...so i'm reluctantly signed it...oh,well, still not too bad deal, i suppose...0
