Has anyone here received their security token yet? Is it like Nationwide's reader that anyone can use or personal to them like Coventry's grid card? Ie do partners need one each?
It's more akin to the HSBC security thingy - you give it a PIN, and you don't need a card to operate it. I think the PIN is unique to the physical reader, and each reader is uniquely assigned to a given account holder. So if there is two of you, each with their own account/online access, you need 2 of the tokens. There's probably more about this on their website.

I just noticed that you have no option for paperless statements. It's the first bank I have come across in the last 8 or so years that hasn't yet implemented this option.

YB keep on surprising us! :)
  • Am I right in assuming that all I need to do is deposit 1K every month ( & I can take 1K out to Halifax by fast payment every month) to earn 4% interest up to £3000.00 capital without having to have direct debits or having to transfer my existing current a/c to them?

    Thank you

There is no stipulation regarding direct debits. They just want to see £1000 credited each month.

In principle, yes, but this account does seem unusually hard work to set up. There is more paperwork than with any current account I have ever set up before. My first payment into the account was rejected and when I tried to register for internet banking I was told to call back next week.

This bank is sending me mad. Today, a week after I requested it, I received my Internet banking password and successfully registered and logged on. Unfortunately I must have slipped up answering one of the security questions. You need to provide three answers one of which is selected at logon. The trouble is they are case sensitive - which I didn't realise.

I logged on successfully twice, now I get the security question where I can't remember the case of each word - and each time I try to log in I get asked the same question.

I rang CS and was told I need to re-apply for a new one-time internet password - this will take another week.

I really can't believe how slow Clydesdale Bank is. Another week without Internet access to my account! I could switch to another bank in that time!

If I compare with other bank even a smaller BS, I could say their customer service is horrible and unprofessional. Some if them is even do not know their own. TBH I have been spending a lot of time try to set up this account for a gain of less than £100 and just for one year .....
Being pedantic, it's until March 2015.
I agree that it is tedious. Still waiting for token to organise December's standing order rotation.

Got my Internet banking sorted. The key is to ask for a supervisor. Got a call-back from a very helpful manager who changed something so I was asked one of the other memorable questions when I logged on. This worked and I was able to change the offending one. Phew!!
It looks like the people you initially get through to are or the 'computer says no' variety and you get nowhere fast.

Anyone tried their callback feature via webform to save hanging on that 0844 number. Cant seem to get the form to submit, keeps reloading the empty form on submission. (after 6pm dunno if that matters)
