I transfer £1000 to a Santander Account every month and dont need to use my Security Token. Maybe because its an old account. I ordered a Security Token and beyond setting it up have never had to use it.0

Alas, you can't open those accounts online. Must go into Branch or call them, or ask to be called.
But 2 allowed per person, so might be worth to persevere.

Have anyone tried this and get approved for both YSB and CD ?
In Their London office, I have seen they share the same office ...0 -
If I understand this correctly, the lowering of the limits (e.g. from £1,000 to £300 for payments and SOs) is a very recent development - like just over the last week.0

They both operate under the Deposit Taking Licence of Clydesdale Bank plc but are owned by the National Australia Bank Group0

You need the security token for any SOs over £300. And you need it for a host of other things.
In short - you just need the security token, end of.
If you set up a regular S/O to send the £1000 out, don't you just need to enter the security code once? If, so it will be completely automated after the 1st S/O is set up? (You will also set up a S/O to send the £1000 in from another account)0 -

It was announced some time ago, (I've already got my security token, though I've not had to use it yet), but, TTBOMK, it hasn't been implemented yet.Eco Miser

Yes, that is true. That is SO is designed for e.g. for regular payment (monthly by default). But to set up SO from your CB for the first time for the amount of £300+ you will still need a token.
Quite annoying really for the person who just want to use this as a saving account.0 -
Hi All
I got my callback today from YB and after taking my name, DOB and address - they told me they could not open the account over the phone and I would need to visit the branch with ID! I asked whenever I could send them by post and they said no...
This is really weird as my credit history is A1 and I never have any trouble opening accounts or getting credit. I have also been registered at the same address for over 30 years.
YB are really crazy.
Anyone else have this experience?
I think I will try again tomorrow as I don't have any branch which is nearby.
Thx.0 -
May be it's their way of 'dealing' with people who don't live in their caption area?0
