In:- I was quite low on soups in the freezer so made a huge pot of venison soup using mince and veg, spices and herbs. Too hot at the moment to go in freezer but should be ok nearer bed-time.
Out:- 2 x pork balls to make each a scotch egg for tea. It has to be something quick as there is a CPD webinar later this evening.0 -

in:- 3 x 2portioned turkey soup. The turkey bits made 4 but we ate some for lunch
Out:- smoked salmon, pork ribs.
Thought I'd make a chocolate cake for pudding, all went well until I dropped the uncooked mix all over the kitchen floor. Second attempt went better, just waiting for it to cool before splitting it and using blueberries and cream and then covering it with chocolate.
It's posh tea tonight as it's Sunday. We started having posh dinner (but we call it tea as being from the north) during the lockdown to differentiate one week from another. I started it when we lost track of time and had to use our phone to see which day it was.
Out comes the posh dinner service, the silver, cut glass, candle and table decoration. tonight's decoration is a fly agaric mushroom (the red mushroom with white spots) with a bit of conifer and pampas grass. I know it's poisonous but it's the first one of the season I've found on our land and it's so pretty but it will end up in the bin later.0 -

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
