Out:  chicken breasts for dinner tomorrow; WM rolls for dinner tonight; bag of butternut squash cubes to make a curry tomorrow for Monday's meat free meal

Also soaking a load of chickpeas to cook tomorrow.  They will also be curried tomorrow - some with the butternut squash and some as a chana masala

So i was looking for how to turn the bag of leftover bits of salmon (from easter) into a fish stock and one of the sites suggested never to use salmon as it is too oily. Opinions anyone?

Ms C tidied the fridge last night and we are going to work our way through my bulk buy of cans and flours etc. With the fresh produce slowly trickling in from allotment, should be an interesting list of ingredients thrown together.

    Out: tin chickpeas for hummous.

Salmon is definitely too oily to make fish stock.  Stick with heads/bones from white fish for a good fish stock.  Personally I wouldn't bother!  I generally just use a veg stock cube or fresh veg stock if I've got any.

    Out small gammon

I'm going to try to eat just out of the freezers until the end of the month as I seem to be putting as much in as I'm getting out and I need the space for my fruit and veg.

Lost the plot over the last few days

In:-  delivered earlier this week, the skirt, 2 beef kidneys, beef liver and oxtail. A lovely person sold me the above for 15.00, so I spent an hour or so chopping and portioning and freezing. I know I have enough for loads of meals when the weather gets colder.

Out:- B of lamb, chicken breast, bacon, bread, smoked salmon - ops...mustn't forget the ice-cream.

Today I aim to make 2 salmon and asparagus flans with the leftover s salmon and a small handful of asparagus from my plot. Also 2 lemon cheesecakes as I need to use up some cream before it turns. One for the freezer and one for tomorrow
