Going to stuff the thighs with haggis and wrap in bacon,
Interesting!!! never heard of using haggis to stuff chicken, may try it as I love haggis.
Freezer:-
Out, Some turkey and ham bits. I'm desperate to try a Christmas present, an electric mincer, but I've no suitable meat so I thought I'd try it with cooked meat and make a 'sort of pie' for tea.
In:-4 portions of cottage pie.
Diet started, using smaller plates at the moment as I'm sure portion size is a major factor in my being overweight. Also, there is so much that needs using up I can't justify going shopping. I've frozen what I can but hopefully smaller plates will help as what can't be fitted on the plate won't be eaten.
weather here UGH, no flooding but the land can't take any more water0 -
In:2 loaves
Out: 1 portion of curry, 2 salmon fillets
I can actually start to see spaces:rotfl:0 -
Hi all. My original goals were these:
No buying of any meat/fish for a good few months none bought to date
Eat something out of the freezer every daynot managed every day but so far I have taken out some mince, 4 teacakes, a pack of bacon 3 chicken breasts, a pack of pita breads
Avoid where possible putting anything back in bar the cooked versions of my used up freezer meat (wont waste anything though )put a portion of chilli in from a batch cook over new year also need to put in some lemons that will go off if I leave for much longer
Do a full list of both freezers (todays task) and keep it in view all the time to avoid any temptation to go out and buy done
Post on here every time I have a meal at home from the freezer not quite managed but todays is a coverall
so not doing too bad and I am sure I can keep this up for the whole of january. Its already saving me money. I managed to cook a meal last night for friends that only required me buying some greek yoghurt and some feta cheese, normally I would have just gone and bought everything from scratch.
tonight I will be having the same meal again to use up the yoghurt and feta. Very pleased with progress so far0 -
In - Nothing.
Out - turkey and beef leftovers from christmas, made a curry for tea. Lamb joint to defrost for tomorrow, and leftover stuffing from Christmas defrosting for tomorrow.
Spent more than I thought in December, so im going to have a frugal month this month!!0 -

I'm not.
OUT:YS Lamb chops, prt HM turkey curry (took out yesterday after posting)
Also, YS Pork joint today.
IN: 3x beef lasagne (reduced 50p @asda), 2x 3pk garlic bread (ditto Asda 50p)
The bargains are just too good to leave at the mo and as things will be getting much tighter for us in the coming weeks I'm unashamedly grabbing them!
Still trying to eat really sensibly from the stocks, though.
Writing things down on here is really focusing my mind.
Dinner today was HM Irish stew and dumplings in the slowcooker. Turkey curry and couscous for DS.
Tea was YS free range boiled eggs and fingers. The yolks were so creamy and silky like I remember duck eggs when I used to get them from the farmers market when I was more affluent.Really lovely texture and bright orange.
