I went and got the waitrose magazine discovered a mini waitrose in Cardiff and got reduced mince pies and wrapping papper from £3.50-29p yes 29p!!

I saw in the weekly MSE email that the Heston choc xmas puddings were down (from something like £14) to £1.30 - if the weather wasn't so bad I might have gone to have a nose to see what else they have as I need to get some water/yoghurts in the next few days. But I will probably put an Ocado order in given the weather!

I finished up the mushrooms and cauliflower last night. All that's left in the fridge veg wise are some chilli peppers (I can't eat them at the moment but may roast and freeze), a sweet pepper and some beetroot, will prob roast and freeze also plus a bit of red cabbage I may shred and make into coleslaw though need to check the vegan mayo as not sure if too acidic to eat at the mo. Also got a muddy bag on the floor of parsnips, carrots and yet more beetroot I need to wash and also roast/freeze. Then fresh salad stuff and few bits of veg arriving Sunday.
  • I saw Heston christmas pud with orange in centre they were £2.80 I did not get one as only Mr WP who likes it but hoping to go to big Waitrose next week as the duchy mince pies were super delic and we can freeze them for later in year.

3... I definitely could never do it without sedation! but read you have to swallow it before you get the sedation and it's that bit I would be dreading the most.. doesn't it make you gag? I just don't think I can bear it, I get faint/nauseous at the thought of a blood test even :o

Losing my appetite by the second lol. Despite that I've just cooked up 6 trays of roast root veg from the allotment. Had some for dinner with a slice of leftover nut roast so totally free dinner. Will put the other portions of cooked veg in the freezer and use over the next week or so. Got about another 6 trays worth to cook/freeze tomorrow. Still some more in the ground I might be able to salvage if the weather stays mild.

Kirri I have a vague memory of a small mouthpiece being fitted between my teeth and the tube being fed through that. I don't really remember swallowing it, just being asked to 'Work with us' when I came out of the sedation a bit during one of the procedures and obviously my instinct then was to cough up the tube! There were no after effects, not even a sore throat. How are you coping with your limited diet?

Afraid there's been more going into the fridge, freezer and cupboards than coming out as DH has been shopping with me a couple of times and does like picking up lots of bits and pieces which we really don't need. Will be writing a list of what we have in stock on Monday and a plan to use it all up.

That's sounds slightly less grim than I thought..

I'm sort of getting used to the limited foods ie far less to buy, less to cook.. struggling a bit with ideas as there are no recipes that are suitable so just keep eating much the same, trying to concentrate on things that contain important vits etc, lots of steamed veg, salads and need to add in more beans. I've not quite managed to give up things with sugar totally yet..

Veg, steamed potatoes and leftover nut roast tonight.

Whilst that ^ was in the oven I cooked up 2 trays of peppers I can't eat but will freeze till I hopefully can.

  • Lol wp I'm so happy you found a Mr w.

Can't remember who said about waking up during sedation. Erm WHAT? I would have been mortified . Kirri Good luck with that, ensure they sedate you well! Lots of chocolates being reduced in mr w.

Not much out the freezer got a pack of m&s Bacon from my grams, off to visit her brother in the hospital tomorrow, he hasn't got long apparently, diabetes, needs a new kidney, pneumonia. So my family have been visiting. My gram and her bro rarely talk, but she would never not visit him, been told today he is having trouble breathing.

I have got a quarter of a chicken and leek pie out for tomorrow which I will have with fresh cauliflower and brocolli ,and garlicky mash from the freezer.
I made a banana custard today to use up three banana's and used up the YS milk that was 19p for two litres I also made a bowl of stewed apple which I put the rest of the custard on.
Re the Heston Choc Christmas pud we had one this year, and it was to die for ,very yummy (I had the last of it donated to me by my DD) and finished it up on Monday. If I'd known they were selling them off I would have been tempted to buy one as DD paid just under £15.00 odd for their one.Expensive but well worth it

    Out - YS stewing beef

Made a beef stew with wrinkly carrots and some onions in the fridge. Was really nice, made the BF bring in potatoes for mash cause I'm skint till end of Jan - near enough :-/

Out - Tonight - chicken thighs and a packet of bacon

Going to stuff the thighs with haggis and wrap in bacon, use the LO potatoes and LO brussels from Xmas which are surprisingly, still in good nick!
