Found some bacon wrapped around sausagemeat with apricot stuffing. I can remember making them about 2months ago.
A friend called today with a huge amount of pears, golden delicious apples and bramley apples. She give me a laundry basket full of Bramley's a couple of weeks ago. I made freezer mincemeat for Christmas and sliced the rest and froze them. I have enough to last the year. I did a huge bowl of pears with cinnamon, brown sugar and red wine in the ironheart this afternoon most of which will be frozen. DH suggested we made perry with the rest. The golden delicious apples are nice and crisp so they'll get stored and eaten quite quickly. That just leaves the Bramleys........We do a fair bit of bartering around here - quite old fashioned... swapped them for three trays of eggs, (she makes lots of cakes) cherry jam, marrow and ginger jam and rosehip and orange marmalade. It's all very nice but doesn't do much for reducing the stuff in the cupboards and freezers!!!

Just back from holiday in the motorhome so have got some meals in the fridge left which I bought whilst away which will do for the next couple of evening meals.

Got a pack of butternut squash cubes and diced peppers out of the freezer which are now cooking with an onion and some stock which I will blitz up for soup for lunch today.  Think there will be enough for lunch tomorrow as well as there is a good panful.  Depends how hungry DH is!

Well there wasn't as much soup as I thought and it only did lunch for today so will have to have a rethink for lunch tomorrow!  Probably jacket potato, tuna mayo & a side salad and coleslaw.
