I'm going to have to join in again after quite a long absence. I over stocked during the lockdown - not on purpose - it just happened.  I usually try to run down the freezers over the early part of the summer ready for the veg surplus which usually happens in Aug/Sept. This year it went horribly wrong, and my freezers are bursting at the seams, I have to say some of my friends are in exactly the same situation as the lockdown meant they couldn't sell their produce through the usual channels.
Due to our age we have been self isolating since March, I haven't been off our place since then. All food for both humans and animals has been delivered. Fortunately there is so much to do here I haven't missed shopping so I aim to carry on isolating and only buy what is absolutely necessary over the next few months, to make meal plans and to waste nothing. Hopefully, it will help the overall budget (always a plus) without any compromise on the way we live.

    Today
Lunch:- green pea soup with bits of ham thrown in,  bread rolls
Tea:- leek and ham flan, crisps or chips and lettuce.
pudding - leftover meringues and the last of the cream from yesterday.

I've run out of curry powder but I've load of spices in the drawer. Any ideas of a substitute. I was going to make squash and parsnip soup for lunch and it has a pinch of curry powder in it to give it just that little kick. Any ideas???
Googled my prob, tried allspice and ground cumin - no good so I've added cream and pepper as well, now a bit better but they'll have to eat the soup and i won't tell them what I've added and see if they say anything
