though I placed about half the mixture on the puff pastry bottom, then spread over some slices of value Stilton (any blue cheese would work), then the rest of the mixture. The cheese gives a nice 'bite'
It's very easy to make as the main ingredient is stuffing mix (whatever flavour you prefer).
There's more than enough mixture for the pie - I made a couple of smaller individual pies using leftover puff pastry.

Get hold of a copy of the Tesco free instore magazine (the Chistmas one with the turkey on the front), turn to the inside back page and get the ‘£3 off £12 dairy’ coupon, bottom right, the one marked ‘December savings’. Coupon valid to end of the month.

Or if you can’t get a magazine instore, go to
    http://realfood.tesco.com/magazine-archive.html
download a PDF f the magazine and print out the voucher page — they should accept it instore.

The Jus-Rol puff pastry (£1.50), puff pastry light (£1.60), and shortcrust pastry (£1.50), are Buy One Get One Free — get eight of these, in twos of the same kind or multiples of twos. It's the ones in the chiller section, not the freezer section.

The till (manned and self-scan) sees a total purchase of £12, so you can use the £3 Off coupon. It also deducts the BOGOF. So .... £12 total goes down to £6 with BOGOF and then £3 off =
£3 to pay (or £3.80 if you’ve bought the Light), or approx 40p a packet.

    BUT THEN....

Go to the Jus-Rol website and look for the Rewards scheme, or go to
    www.jusrol.co.uk/rewards
    or search for ‘Jus-Rol Rewards’

Register for the scheme, and enter the code numbers from your packets (max 3 per week).
Each code is worth 10 points, and for 70 points (or 7 packets) you can get a £5 supermarket voucher.

    SO...
£3 paid, minus £5 voucher = £2 in profit— you’ve been paid to buy it!!!

(The rest is in temporary storage in my Mum's freezer:))

and a partridge? (in a pear tree..) sounds like a Christmas song!

JB - great glitch if you like pastry! Bizarre it even is included under dairy as most Just Rol is vegan iirc. I still need to make some mini pies - something maybe with chestnuts, root veg and mushrooms though will prob make the pastry.

MNR - glad I'm not the only one who comes back with food from relatives and JB - also stores food in family's freezer! :o

I also picked up some organic salad and foodie gift reductions in Waitrose on Xmas Eve, let us know if there's much going if you go in. I'll prob not get there till next week now.
  • Jelly wow! Thanks for the heads up, I shall give it a go, pastry is freezable as well.

Kirri I called my grandma because I saw some stuff she had been looking for that was half price, she went oh you didn't take any tomatos, when I drop her stuff off I will get some, prob more potatoes too.

Some good reductions at waitrose, all the choccies etc, my waitrose are starting to reduce later so I will go at 4pm tomorrow, I also forgot the mag!

Thank's Jelly Biactol - saved that recipe into my favourite recipes folder. Pie looks delicious.

Great bargains. I could only get the one half price turkey crown - no freezer space.

In to freezer - 5 bags of pork + 6 bags of turkey.
Out of freezer - 2 muffins + fish pie.
We had pork + roast potatoes + roast parsnip + sprouts + carrots + sage/onion stuffing + HM Yorkshire Pudding + gravy + HM apple sauce for dinner on Christmas day. I realised - we had no apple sauce so I quickly cubed a Braeburn apple from the last Aldo SS - put in MW - done. I did take a photo but don't know what happened to it. No - I wasn't tipsy - no alcohol drunk here.
Plenty of pork left - in freezer - I carved it all in the afternoon. I cooked a turkey crown while oven was on.
