veggie bakes out the freezer for dinner with some mash (we've got a glut of potatoes!) and beans.0

Well out of the freezer came some chicken roll for sandwiches and a home grown beef joint that is in the slow cooker.
Unfortunately what went in was some of the fruits of my 2 and a half hour reduce to clear bargain hunting which included 4 massive free range organic chickens that were originally £12 each and I got them for £3-£4 each, bread for 10p a loaf.House purchased November 2013

Out today came a gammon joint, we have just had gammon, egg and noodles for dinner. I will turn some of the leftover gammon in to a ham and split pea soup for lunch tomorrow and the rest with spaghetti and cheese sauce for dinner.
Nothing has gone in.£36/£240

No freezer movement here.
Mr F is away - I am not rooting around in the chest freezer with my bad back. Mr F will be home in the early hours - I will be in bed. If he doesn't get something out of the freezer for dinner then - I will sort out a meal tomorrow.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Great bargins Rachel:)
Thank you soworrird, when they are that good you just have to go for it. At least one of them is that big it will do a roast dinner, say chicken fajitas (got 2 packs coz they were on offer and worked out quite reasonable), a chicken jacket potato type meal and then pick the carcus (sp?) For a curry/sweet ans sour dish. So that's a minimum of 4 days of meals for me and the hubby. That cannot be bad for 1 chicken. Although I need to increase my repertoire of chicken meals as I do those sorts of things with a chicken all the time.
Left over chicken ideas are welcome.House purchased November 2013

In to freezer - nothing.
Out of freezer - HM Shepherd's Pie + HM Apple Pie + Breaded Chicken.
Back slightly better today - so what did I do?
Painted three new interior doors then hoovered upstairs of house!
Dinner was HM wedges + baked beans + poached eggs.
Can you tell - got a lot of eggs here?Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
