Zafiro84, I have been doing that all January, only buying fresh veg and dairy, enough toiletries to last until next January, don`t use milk or bread, will probably still need to keep it going until Easter.Do I need it or just want it.0 -

I called in Morries yesterday for a specific item, 3 y.s. fish, 2 y.s.pots of soup later bill was over £70 but £50 Amazon voucher and 5 saver stamps and got 12 tonic water with lime, which for some odd reason has been in short supply everywhere, there was loads of y.s. meat available, but that`s where I am most crammed, want to use everything and start from fresh meat wise.Do I need it or just want it.0

I have cooked the last of the lamb I removed from the freezer over a week ago now and also cooked the YS chicken I bought when I succumbed to the YS shelves this week. We will have curry this evening, had a roast dinner on Thursday and I have added the chicken stock to the soup that is bubbling as I type. I might keep some of the meat to make a small pie - at which point it will have made 3 dinners and contributed to a weeks worth of lunches (soup). It reminds me of the old rubber chicken thread on here.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2226.88/£3000 or 74.23% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

I find after 10 a.m. a good time, not the cheapest, but all the departments have had time to sort what needs to go, after 2 p.m. second round of cuts, then the 6.30 p.m. death knell cuts.
Anyway that`s the system my Morries seems to use.Do I need it or just want it.0
