Do I need it or just want it.
  • Got some beef meatballs out but did not have any l/o tomato sauce type mix in freezer but did see a small lump of red lookin chilli some have taken that out to use as the sauce. Have put some brown curly pasta shapes in bowl of water to sit and soak, will then bung in micro when I want to have them, I know they will be soft but as I cook for one, I dont care. Will be an easy cook and uses stuff from cupboard and freezer. May get the pineapple I bought out of fridge and use the special tool I bought from Am.. to peel and slice it, planning on making some sort of rice and chicken and pineapple meal tomorrow (or similar).

IN:y.s. bananas, bought a huge y.s. pork shoulder in instant pot with a B.B.Q. sauce, some for today, remains will be portioned and into freezer.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • Meatballs last night were lovely, remainder of the "chilli sauce" will go in a tortilla for lunch today, getting some frozen chicken chunks from freezer, frozen peppers plus some fresh stuff to make chicken and pineapple fried rice, using the cauli rice. Tomorrow will do sweet & sour meatballs from freezer with pineapple plus honey etc from cupboards and finish off the cauli rice. Then will start to menu plan using freezer foods for rest of week but not set in stone.

Making roast beef dinner tonight using a large rolled rib of beef from the freezer.

Will be making curry with some of the LOs so made up a batch of curry mix - I prefer to mix my own rather than using a standard curry powder which never seem to be quite right for flavour. My own mix is very tasty and aromatic without too much heat.

  • As decided for today, already prepped, but will have to do something with courgettes tomorrow and I have a few mushrooms to check out too. Will try to use up some of the "lumps" of food from freezer, probably cooked mince which I did not label and also some tubs of stuff I have labelled - making an effort.

    IN: 3packs B.B.Q. Pork
    OUT: Lamg and gravy
Had chicken thighs yesterday which I consider the dogs, neighbour gave me remains of a leg of lamb, she won`t eat it cold, so I have a pack of my lamb and gravy in freezer, will fetch that out, add to it and depending on how much left will freeze for curry.

Made a beef curry yesterday for tonight's dinner. Hoping there might be a couple of portions left over to freezer but not holding my breath!

    Nothing out.

IN: Will be putting the donated lamb leg cut up for curry in, when I defrosted the lamb and gravy there was enough for 2 meals, which is why I froze it in the first place.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • Neighbours curry and rice taken out for tonight, will finish off the mushrooms in fridge and use some of my diddy courgettes. Same neighbour came yesterday and gave me a small tin of hoop sand another of spag, I did give her some of my home grown tomatoes. It is difficult to repay foodwise as she is Asian and veggie and I am not experienced so I take her to shops and docs in my car in return.
