  • Must use up the cauliflower today and have taken a mushroom pasta portion from freezer so thats tonight. Have also taken a couple of sausages out for tomorrow which I will have with a mini corn on cob, OK so not really a barbie but bit similar for me, also some home grown salad stuff.

    Hi all,
Hope I'm doing my first 'proper' post correct/acceptable!

I'd like to include fridge, freezer and store cupboard if that's ok? When it comes to things such as jars and tins, they will just come from my sore cupboard (unless I need something specific). Hope that's ok!

In - leftover roast chicken and stuffing from supper tonight (fridge)
Out - 2 frozen boiled potatoes, handful sprouts, carrots and little bit of cauliflower.
    Use up - yogurt
    :)

IN: 2 packs of y.s. pork chops and 2 packs of pigs liver, vacumn packed and frozen into 8 nice thick chops and 4 packs of liver.
OUT: 1 pork chop and some h.m.frozen ratatouille mix
Do I need it or just want it.
  • I include any of my storage places and also home grown foods. I think it all counts as it helps to stop us wasting foods. I also try to use the packaging where possible - not to eat but to use for storage and garden.

Evening everybody. Not too bad today I think:
In - 2 crispbread sized portions of pate (bought it on Sunday so didn't want to waste it. 2 small portions of S&O stuffing.
Out - 1 wholemeal pita (all gone now thank goodness).
Used up - LO chicken and stuffing from last night in pita with salad. Other half onion used below.

I used one of the (not in the freezer) pate portions to try something a bit different and found a recipe that intrigued me. Sweated onion and garlic in a pan whilst cooking some pasta. Then I combined the pate with onions to heat up and 'meld' IYKWIM then stirred the pasta in. Must admit I was a bit wary of the 'smell', but the finished dish was really quite tasty (and surprisingly light!).

Went for some eggs yesterday and salad bits, saw a 50% off chicken, back home into instant pot, so chicken today and tomorrow, so no outs until Friday.

Interesting LIzzieM. That is not an idea I have tried. I do occasionally resort to a pack of garlic and herbs cream cheese stirred through pasta but recently my pasta has just sat in its jars, looking at me from the counter-top as we eat more of a Mediterranean diet.

Last night we were late home so had the remaining bacon (three rashers from the butcher) made into sarnies with bread from the freezer, and some slightly over spicy soup I made this week using red-lentils and courgettes. I bought a super-lazy jar of chillies as I could not find a big bag of dried chillies in the SM and it is much hotter than I was expecting.

    Hello,
Nothing much today, only thing that 'moved' was a portion of crinkle cut chips (well I did have a new 'date' this afternoon...) :)
