Summary of August 2017 :-
2 freezer drawers currently being used by the end of August. One of these drawers mainly consists of free food. Two drawers are empty.
Fridge and cupboards food, moderately stocked but using up "old" herbs and spices created more space. Some items in both places are past the best before date.
Although August food grocery spends were only just within budget, some were bulk purchased or stocking up on regularly purchased products e.g. UHT milk.0 -

Due to having a totally lazy day, I decided to ask OH to get bring some milk in with him ............... oh dear - but, at least it was his own money that he was spending
!
I was so proud of my No Spend Days recently - and he comes in with the milk (that I DID ask for) PLUS 2 packs of Luxury Easy-peelers - 2 packs of Plain Choc Digestives for himself (I buy my own gluten free biccies or make my own) - a bag of very large under-ripe Bananas (give me indigestion) - bottle of Lemon/Lime flavoured water - and a bag of sweets! Honestly, it's like sending our10yr old grandson out to do the shopping:mad: !

I'd like to join for September please. I have a huge stock of food both frozen, dehydrated and tinned, etc. and I am sure when I get round to using it some will be out of date. I want to see just how long I can go using up what I already have. I know I will need to buy more tea but will use up all the odds and sods of fruit teas I have taking up space in my cupboard first. Maybe plant milk by the end of the month, although I have a good stock of UHT in reserve. I aim wherever possible to either grow it, buy at a reduced price and of course now we come into forage season. I am hopeful to get some more fruit for drying before the autumn is out and still have masses of courgettes to dehydrate. I can see lots of vegetable curries over the winter!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Good luck to those new to this challenge.
Mini challenge for this month (for me) is:-
Using up any food stocks acquired before September 1st. These consist of those still as originally purchased, freezer recipes made and anything free. Will aim for 100; just a random figure.
Used up 12/100.0
