Hi, I know I don't need to explain myself, but I was going to be doing a challenge on here. I've had a bit of an accident and am feeling massively sorry for myself. I was running like some Olympian for the bus, after a night out, and I fell. I didn't put my hands out, for some reason, and have smashed my face really bad. I get to the bus stop and ask a lady if she has a tissue, and she starts crying, cause I look so bad and am covered in blood, and tries to insist she calls an ambulance. Anyway, I was supposed to be going to a restaurant tonight and meeting some friends later at a party, but I honestly look like something out of a horror movie, so have had to cancel. I can barely type, as I have done something to my shoulder and am in a lot of pain. Anyway, no big deal, it will all heal. But I won't be doing any challenge. Take Care.
Oh big hugs - I think you have more than enough challenges at the moment to worry about
  • Take care of yourself, we will still be here when you are feeling better...

    :)
  • Tonight tea is... potato and vegetable curry..all from what we have in fridge/cupboards

Would you have it with rice or I have some partbaked baguettes..?

Trying to eat what we have but always end up with chips or wedges and frozen veg left lol.

Ouch! That sounds really painful. Your priority should definitely be taking care of yourself! I find gin applied to the mouth can be effective. :D Hope you feel better soon.

lol - it's proving effective - I have a bottle of 'pink gin', thank you for the tip.

Thank you very much for the very sweet good wishes, I wasn't looking for sympathy, I guess I was feeling very sorry for myself and ranted, but very appreciated.

Out: 10 pieces of chicken, 4 pieces of haddock, bag of strawberries, bag of red currants, bag of raspberries.

I have people coming for lunch tomorrow, it will be a picky lunch with plenty of vegetables as I really am clearing everything out of the freezer. So fish Veronique, chicken in parmesan crust it is.

I've only spent 36.90 on groceries this month - I'm very pleased about this

I've been meaning to go to Waitrose as I've got 10% off until tomorrow but it's in the next town and I'd have to get a bus there. I could get a delivery but it's a minimum of £60.

So I've just gone through the items I'd put on the list online.

Potatoes, I'd put two lots on there, but as I ran out I bought some locally, so no need for them.
Vegetables - hmm, only carrots in, but I've leftovers to eat today which have veg in and tomorrow I'm not here for lunch
Eggs, still got 3 - so enough for at least 3 days
Hob cleaner - I am running out, but not that important yet
Pineapple juice - love it, but I'm trying to lose weight
Ginger ale and ginger beer - I love this stuff, but it has contributed to my weight gain, so going cold turkey on it
Milk - not sure I tolerate this that well, even though it's lactose free
Bread - I've some in the freezer and I'm cutting down on that too

I'd like to throw away the flour in my cupboards as it's passed its best before date, but it feels so wasteful. I'm only using a little for sauces each month, and I'm making less and less of them at the moment. The 3 partly used bags only cost about £3.50 so why is it so hard to throw it away?

I know I will need to shop next week, and I won't get any discount, but I think I need to continue this year as I began.

I spent more last month on eating out which has its own budget of £50. I've offered to cook for two of my friends when they visit, but one is so fussy. We went out once in January and my son came too and I paid for him. Then I paid for lunch for a friend and I when we went to the theatre - he wouldn't let me pay for the theatre tickets and suggested I bought our lunch instead. Plus I went shopping with my daughter and paid for a drink and bun for us both, and also paid for the coffee locally for a friend when we went out for an afternoon.

I've gone off track really with this post, thanks for listening if you got this far

Out: Mature cheddar, Stilton, Red Leicester, extra bag of raspberries, lemon juice and zest, double cream. Memo to self - entertain more often it is good for using up stuff.

In: 2.4k leg of lamb (I know, I know but it was reduced to £14.00 at the butchery counter and it will be perfect for Mothering Sunday).
