Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

Kirri I'd suggest binning something two years out of date that has solidified myself.
Had my salad lunch so late could only face soup for dinner. I had pea & ham, OH had French country veg I think - Amy's Kitchen GF- so that was OUT of cupboard two tins of soup. In my salad I had a small jar drained Parsons Pickled Mussels from Home Bargains. Have to admit having overdosed on mayo couldn't really taste themhttp://www.parsonspickles.co.uk/products/shellfish/
OUT freezer 500g organic British beef mince for dinner tomorrow.0 -
Out: HM enchiladas for dinner, 1 portion soup (husbands lunch.)
In: (All YS) large pack turkey mince, 4 river cobbler fillets, some stewing steak (got this for 3p in Asda with one of their price guarantee vouchers)0 -
No freezer movements.
Just me here for dinner so had a using up LOs meal.
I had some LO roast potatoes - cut up and warmed in oven + piece of HM Quiche from freezer. Served with a yummy poached egg.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I had the last of the seabass from the freezer stuffed with kale and had some leftover rice to go with it.
In the freezer went 2 packets of reduced sausage meat, it was cheaper to buy 2, 80p for both after discounts or 1 for £1.29, no brainer really, since I was going to buy some this week anyway, I want to use it to mix with mince for a meat loaf at the weekend and I usually use it for meatballs.
I'm still sticking to my meat free weekdays, but I have messed up a few times, need to do some more shopping on Thursday, I have no fish or chicken left in the freezer.

I go to the new Richmond one, though may try the Fulham one when it opens in the Spring. Been meaning to try the Clapham one too but think that is smaller, have you ever seen that branch?Welsh_Poppy wrote: »

:T Do you still have any treats? I can't get through a day without eating something sweet..Kirri I'd suggest binning something two years out of date that has solidified myself.
Yep think it's going later.. got to dig it out to recycle the jar though. Think will bin the tofu later too.The cold is making me want comfort food.
Yep thinking the same, I've got my tagine book out as I fancied making something a bit more warming/substantial.
Today will be:
B - yog/granola/oj
L - pitta and last  bit of fresh cashew butter (desperate for more) and banana
D - rest of the grain salad, last bit of feta, the last of the frozen courgette fritters and probably roast beetroot/carrot so will batch cook a lot and freeze.
Snacking on G&B and clementines.
I still have half a lemon, half a pomegranate to use (1 seems to do about 6-8 salads!), a last portion of vegan red pesto, a bit of opened cheese with chives/garlic, some opened preserved lemons - so that will be the rest of the week sorted ie pesto pasta/veg, tagine, grain salad with pomegranate/cheese.0 -
Kirri, I lurve preserved lemons.. I bought a big Le Parfait jar to do them myself.. OH swiped it and used for organic fertiliser in the shed. What it with him and kitchen stuff.. he used my mother's preserving pan she'd given me, for mixing cement in
Wrested £217 out of husband by fast payment last night, as I spent several hours going through receipts picking out all the non-food items to make the point that it's not fair to give me a budget for food and then expect me to pay for DVDs, gloves, shirts etc as well.I think he thought it was the odd £20 here and there.. well they add up !
So if anyone here gets a budget just for food I suggest doing same if you aren't already.
Anyway means instead of bleating that I have no food budget left I got back where I should be and can get stuff for the freezerNow all the bread with gluten has gone along with the pies n pasties for OH lunches I can get more in for Christmas.
