It's all about the bills this morning.

Annual water bill has arrived in my bank account and delighted to find £50.54 in credit as the last 2 years have been in debit. The new monthly amount from September is therefore reducing from £33 a month to £23 a month. :T Less usage of the dishwasher, hardly any car cleaning (used to be fortnightly) and no jetwashing the block paving, drive, patio and paths. We're on the SoLo rate as it works out cheaper under 75 cubic metres use pa.

On the flipside, Sky are putting up our package by £1.25 a month to £23.75 next month. I'll go through with DS to see what he watches as really want to get rid of this.

Cracking thunderstorms overnight which woke us both up @ 3am. The Springer wanted to go out in it :rotfl:

Last day of term too, so I have work this morning, school event this afternoon.

    Happy Friday all :)

    Evening all,

A busy day and managed to move the billable bit of work out of the possible holiday window to early August. :j

School event was fab, DS and others acknowledged/awarded for various things too. Great end to their year and caught up with a few parentss I haven't seen for awhile which was fab. Vowed to meet up with one over the hols, fingers crossed.

    Things done:
    - moved DS's eye test due to work
    - contacted current insurance company to not renew
    - New Home card written and posted off
    - gas and elec meter readings done and spreadsheets updated
    - Accounts bang up to date
    - Phoned GPs to find out how a repeat prescription works! First time I've had one and diaried date I need to drop it in
    - Checked Sky channels with DS, looks like we'll be keeping it :(

    Still to do:
    - All the housework, washing, bins and towels
    - Complete YNAB
    - Must write college bit for interview next Tuesday
    - Business banking in the morning
    - Write a list for Sbugs as have a £2.50 off £15 spend and extra points vouchers that I can/will use
    - Clear out old playhouse to garage and sort for car booting

I'm also the proud owner of the garden storage tin I wanted :D Got it for £5 due to having a dent and being the last one. Not that noticeable and sure it'll get other dents after a few uses. Can't wait to go and put tools, gloves, twine and other stuff in it. :j

    Financials:
    - bank accounts checked and reimbursed myself expenses
    - freepostcodelottery (both) checked - it's up at £200 today
    - Nectar adpoints - nothing extra for me, still on 51
    - Nectar Canvass - ooh tempted by a 120 pointer
    - Nectar Search - up at 70/100
    - Nectar card - still at £71.95
    - Inbox Pounds - £7.49
    - Qmee and P!necone Paypal amounts moved to current account today - £7.96

More thunderstorms expected late tonight, so might stay up and watch those as alot of thunder and lightening expected - better than being woken up by them!

A pottering weekend is planned, hopefully we'll get to the free River Festival that is on in town over the weekend. Likely to plump for Sunday due to the better weather forecast plus I've a hair cut and eyebrow tidy tomorrow morning. Will see how things pan out.

    Good morning,

Managed to sleep through any thunderstorms last night with the fan on - we had one about 11pm but maybe nothing after that.

Hair cut and eyebrow stragglers removed at a cost of £30. I have got the phone number of a recommended mobile hairdresser and after seeing my local one has put prices up again, definitely need to change. £26 for a cut/dry seems expensive (no wash, went in with it damp). Feels and looks so much better though and about an inch of dry ends chopped off.

Went to the bank on the way back to save fuel, did the business banking and also banked £35 in coins. :j

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery (day) checked
    - Nectar adpoints - 8 from Yorkshire Tea, so up to 59 now
    - Nectar Canvass - 120 pointer done! Yay!
    - Nectar Search - up at 75/100
    - Nectar card - up at £72.55
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £8.08
    - Qmee - nothing in the pot so far today

    To Do List Update:
    - House stuff - bins and towels done. Washing on. Tidying, cleaning and hoovering still to do
    - College essay to do
    - YNAB completion to do
    - Sbugs list half written
    - Playhouse to clear to garage - bit wet out there, postponed

Weather is showers and dull, but very warm, so plan is stay home and crack on with as much as I can on the list. I've got mince defrosting to do a batch of bolognese and we'll have that for dinner tonight, much to DS's annoyance as it's out of routine from chilli con carne.

Visual disturbances again this morning - I think it's back to the GPs as this isn't getting better and had it been a client site day, I wouldn't have been able to drive. Really wish I knew what is causing them. :( I gave 3 x £20 notes thinking it was £30 in the hairdressers - wondering if it's neurological as not feeling particularly stressed.

Holiday prices have gone up even though both I looked at are still available. Still no movement on dog sitting though so can't move that forward.

Onwards and upwards, but not rushing. :)

    Hi Ali

Shame about the Sky. We are paying £62 a month now (was more) but DH won't budge from sky sports. I really need to look into it a bit more or even BT as £750 a year is almost a holiday.

Sorry to hear about your vision. Hope it clears up.

    Evening,

I've been trying to get rid of Sky for a few years, but there's always a programme or channel that DS is insistent he watches and isn't available from other cheaper providers.

Top of list for Monday is definitely phoning the GP. I nearly phoned NHS Direct earlier, but it all subsided.

Got lots of little bits and pieces done this afternoon, those 2 minute jobs that aren't worthy of adding to a list but niggle just the same. Just seem to spot them as I was doing other stuff and did them there and then.

Also went to Sbugs and used the vouchers I had for there. Picked up a couple of half price items for birthday gifts, a couple of half price washing liquid bottles and biscuits to give to Mum for DS's visits, so spent £22.12 after the £2.50 voucher. Have a good stock now of all the SB stuff I usually buy too - need to split the bill up and add groceries to my total below.

So left on the list is still:
    - YNAB
    - College essay
    - Some housework
    - Clear playhouse (did tidy garage and move some stuff into it).

Enjoying the Live at Edinburgh Show on the TV - great line up so far. :)
