I love things to store things in. I used to be the storage basket queen. I have stopped myself buying them now but I still always make a beeline for all things that store things tidily.

    Hmmm.

    Good evening,

There is news on the garden storage box :D, found out they're on offer in store only from £15 down to £10. One might find it's way here if there's any left in town later in the week (the think about it and see if it's still a want by then strategy).

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
    - Nectar ads - new week and 51 pts done
    - Nectar search - up at 52/100 (helped by holiday searches :o)
    - Nectar card - up at £70.88
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £7.22
    - Qmee - nothing extra, still on £1.85 tonight

It's been a mixed day here. A straight 4 hrs spent on work this morning with some booked into August and September and lots of toing and froing on stuff in progress and potential new stuff - the latter is proving hard work to try and get something from during the summer. INOD is spot on - got to hold my nerve, it'll be fine, it usually is and I expect lower income from July and August anyway.

Visited Mum this afternoon as only chance to see DB and family before they head off on their hols tomorrow.

Felt very stressed today generally, it's been building and I've been battling it with extra water and the cycling. I've come to the conclusion I do need a break. By a pool. Somewhere warm. And abroad. :o I've found (but crucially not booked) a week in Menorca, self catering, flights that suit location and preferred times for just under £1k. It has wi-fi and DS now wants to go too. It's alot of money though.

I will need to speak to the farm for the dogs and also move one piece of billable work, which should be doable. Not very MSE though is it? SE work is a funny thing, when people realise you're away, they hurry to squash work in before and straight after returning, so last year we were away for 3 weeks (yes I know a big hols) and income was short by just under a third of average. It could well be the same if I worked through and have odd quiet days each week - which there will be I'm sure.

What to do. Slow down and stop panicking about not getting everything done at home. Just keep on top of work for now. Roll with the finances as the extra spends this month would be within budget if I wasn't paying off £540 a month and theoretically it's coming out of the car sale money. And see how I feel tomorrow.

On the good news front, the water butt has been refilling fine since I cleared the connector out and the summer bedding in pots is looking fab. :D

An early night tonight too, can't spend whilst asleep :rotfl:

Sometimes we need to take a break. Can you do the holiday without increasing debt? If so then go for it. You've been doing so well.

    Hi Miz,

Yes it can be done without increasing debt. There's £9050 in funds - £800 now in the regular saver, £3,190 ear marked for the debt and £5,060 after that.

I'll look at it again tomorrow. A new day and all that. :)

  • Sometimes if you deal with a travel agent, you can get a better price or some extras thrown in. Might make it a bit more MSE

I love Menorca. We've had fab hols there and a break is sometimes just what you need. You've been working hard and it's good for stress.
