    Ahh Friday :D

Postman brought a letter from the bank - the Lloyds Vantage account is having it's interest chopped by 1.5% on each tier  from July. Keeping my £3k emergency fund there earns me 3% gross at the moment, so this is my wake-up call to change bank account. I'll look at Club Lloyds, but would need to up the emergency fund to £4k to make it work.

A Nectar email about free insulation and 10,000 points caught my attention today. Don't need to be in receipt of benefits for this one, so will enquire and see if I can get it for the kitchen and utility roof.

A nice surprise from Quidco of £1.69 is en route to my bank account. Completely forgot there was still some cashback to come.

I have a date of 13th May for the electricity switching supplier, another £6 a month saving and that 19p gas refund is being applied to my current electric account so it is indeed paying for an extra unit that DS used over Easter. :rotfl:

No news on the garage guy and my car which is a bit frustrating, but will assume he's no longer interested if no advance over the weekend and it'll be time to advertise it.

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked, eve one to do
    - Nectar adpoints - triple pointer, but double for me as I'd watched it already (typical :rotfl:) - up to 59
    - Nectar canvass - not looked at today
    - Nectar card - up to £57.24, no sign of the train points as yet
    - Inbox Pounds - up to £16.52, should increase that this evening
    - Qmee - nothing to report today yet

The new mortgage rules looks like we'll all be taking in our SOAs if we want to change lender. At least we'll be one step ahead on here as we know exactly what we spend on haircuts, groceries, gymn and eating out. Certainly food for thought and will keep me motivated to OPing and tracking every penny. :)

A quiet evening in planned here - probably candles as it's turned chilly and wet.

Hope everyone has had a good day. :)

All change tomorrow though MiT - didn't have time to get into town for train tickets, so will have to buy them at the station in the morning  Using 2 for 1 entry once in London though. Plus station car parking.

I've just looked at the calendar too - have a relative's birthday on 1st May so need to post a card fairly swiftly to use second class. Well, I need to buy the card first :rotfl: So that's now a job for Sunday going into town, unless I can find a cheapish one tomorrow whilst we're out.

Looks like there's going out for a drink one eve next week too. ;)

  • Home Bargains do cards for 29p. I know you asked on my diary if they are same as B&M but forgot to answer there so , they are similar but not the same. I go down every so often and I love it. We have home bargains. Wilkie's and B&M all very near one another. I always end up overbuying when I am there but everything eventually gets used. You can pick up really good bargains but I always end up getting stuff I don't need - like cake glitter today cos it was so pretty . I mean seriously :rotfl:

    Evening!

Had a lovely day out with my cousin, DS and her DD. Rain had stopped by time we arrived in London and the sun shone for the rest of it.

    Costs:
    £2.30 Station car parking
    £21.00 Travelcards
£23.63 Entry tickets (2 for 1 so DS was free)
£20.00 Hot meals at lunchtime, drinks and ice creams (halves with cousin)

So quite an expensive day, but as we didn't do much over Easter and I normally have a 'shopping and catch up day' with my cousin, we did both at the same time. Happy children too. :D

Batch chilli once we got home. Gas and elec readings done - used 10 kwh less on the electric, but up by the same amount on the gas.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
    - nectar adpoints - checked, but none to add to the 59
    - nectar canvass - not looked
    - nectar card - no increase and still on £57.24
    - Inbox Pounds - had a good run on tasks and surveys last night and now up to £17.48
    - Qmee - another 11p

I still need to buy a birthday card to write and post 2nd class tomorrow, plus housework and prep for the new week.

Tired tonight, so not doing alot and will be hitting bed early I think!

Hope everyone has had a good Saturday. :)

Another Sunday and started the day with a few jobs to do.

    - Housework done, more washing done and dried on the line.
    - Birthday cards bought - I got all the May ones so that will save another trip. One posted second class, another I need to send via the Post Office as it's for abroad. Spent £2.37
    - Bag and purse sorted from yesterday, a few coins for the tin and change bucket.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked. Forgot it's May on Thursday  as I'm running my month long. So I've paid myself for the last 3 (well 2 weeks worked) today and set up a mortgage capital payment of £770. I'll pay myself again on Friday for this week.
    - freepostcodelottery (daytime) checked
    - nectar adpoints checked
    - nectar canvass and card - no change
    - Inbox Pounds - up a bit more to £17.75
    - Qmee - another 10p :D Will transfer the 89p sitting there to PP then bank account

Got sports car out to do final prep and checks, when I notice one of the tyres has a little split in the side wall, so that has to be replaced. No idea where that has come from  and they're expensive tyres. Will phone a little place I use as their pricing is usually cheapest and the tracking will have to be done too. With working the next 2 Saturdays it also throws up problems around potential viewings once it's up for sale and more specifically, payment on collection when the bank is open. So I will have to push back advertising it for another 2 weeks I think. :(

Still not heard back from the garage owner so I assume he's no longer interested. I've got to buy the car tax as it runs out on Wednesday - will do that tomorrow after I've dropped doglet No.1 off for his groom and post the card abroad at same time.

So a very expensive week ahead by looks of things.

Hope everyone has had a good day :)
