Is the tyre actually "split" rather than just cracked? Is it holding air?

Evenings are light now and just tell the buyer to bring cash on collection - no specific hours needed. :)
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500
  • Expensive indeed but all 'good' spends as they are necessary. No frivolous stuff included in there. What a shame re tyre. I was just putting dinner on there and thought my oven had broken, it is very old, my poor heart was sinking however heat has now resumed :D
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00

Yes, it's as if someone has stuck a screwdriver in and then bent it another way - a small chunk is loose, but springs back into place. It seems to be holding air.

Cash is good if it's genuine, but with the amount we're talking, I'd prefer to be able to get it banked with the buyer by my side and before they drove off into the sunset....:D

Nothing impulsive or even wanted in there! I was thinking about that cake glitter of yours MiT, could you turn it into body glitter - keeps your Murcia body and makes good use of it :D

Glad your oven has come to life  one of those things I dread happening too.

  • Just checking in and catching up! Boo to the tyre, I get mine online then fitted at a local tyre place as find it so much cheaper. Mine are low profile tyres so go through them with the miles I do a month.

Good to see you Rags - hope you're keeping well.

I've also looked at the buying online and it being fitted locally, but I am going to check in with my niece's fiancee first as he's a mechanic at a garage that does tyres too, so might be able to get a good deal via that route. Trust me to have forgotten about that yesterday! :o

    * * *

Monday madness is the best way to describe today, but a very good work day and a lucrative week is forecast. :j

Meanwhile, Doglet No.1 had his groom at a cost of £41. Smells lovely for a change and not of skanky river or swamp that he goes in daily :rotfl:

Post Office trip fitted in and birthday card posted abroad and car tax purchased for the sports car. I opted for 12 months in the end (£265 ), thinking it'll help with the sale. Tyre to sort next.

I've managed to move the working on Saturday 10th May into the previous week by a stroke of luck, so that will help with potential car viewing(s).

Not alot to report on financials, but I know you'd miss it if I left it out ;)

    - bank account checked - Quidco £1.69 has arrived :T
    - freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
    - Nectar adpoints and canvass - not checked
    - Nectar card value - up over £1 to £58.29
    - Inbox Pounds - up a few p to £17.80
    - Qmee - zero

So I'm officially feeling very skint at the moment. I've written a cheque for £36.80 for DS for this term's school transport to take in tomorrow and with a tyre and Doglet No.2's groom (moved from 3rd to 9th May to accommodate working) coming up, paying £300 off the debt in May maybe a tough call.

I hope to get another £20 from Inbox Pounds fairly soon and also £17 cashback from Energylinx for the electricity supplier switch, so that will all help. And a car boot sale - I really must do at least one of those this month. Bank Hols weekend at end of month if weather is good would be worthwhile I think. :)

Hope everyone's week has started off ok, however, I feel for all the teachers on here after today's awful incident. You do an amazing job and shouldn't have to even consider whether you are safe amongst pupils or not. What are things coming to when that happens? :(

  • Just been watching the news Ali. That is horrific. My DD is starting uni in September to start teaching. Disgraceful

An early update before I head off and do the weekly food shop at Ald!.

A good work day and a lightbulb moment about the sports car tyre - I am going to ask my niece's fiancee to look at it to be 100% sure that it needs a replacement. Must put the new tax disc on it tomorrow as well.

Not alot else to report except the financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery (both) checked
    - Nectar Adpoints - only 7 available and done
    - Nectar Canvass - rejected on a 20 pointer, that's bad :rotfl:
    - Nectar card - no advance on £58.29
    - Inbox Pounds - up a notch to £17.90. Ooh new added money earning by radio listening and clicking on something every 15 minutes. Hmm, can't change pages whilst doing it. So 4p an hour then...must be a law against that!
    - Qmee - fruitful once again with 11p added to the pot. :)

I need to make a routine appointment with the GP for HRT, so that's going to be another £9.05 (I think that's what it has gone up to) for the prescription and I'm planning on booking the boiler service for when I'm off at end of May. Usual chap is doing a £60 fixed price service, better than the £75 I'd put in the budget.

Better get a move on here and write our meal plan before doing the shopping list. Hoping to spend less than £20 tonight in Ald!, let's see how I get on. Shall report back later. :)

    Hope everyone's had a good day. :)

The food shop came in at £12.54, so for the month a total of £125.82. A small overspend considering the meat purchases last week, which will see us through all our Sunday dinners for the next month.

DS will likely need a few items for cooking at school on Friday, but doesn't yet have the list, so that will come out of the May budget which will be £100 and 4 weeks.

Got a batch of chilli to make on Saturday and the sweet'n'sour pork I made the other day produced 4 more meals for me (DS doesn't like it). Plenty of meat, so a good base to start May from. :)

  • £12.54  Bloody marvellous. I'm on a mission in May, DS just told me though that I really really need to do a big shop as we were running out of everything. By everything he means bread, butter and cheese !! 2 freezers are full, fridge is groaning, fruit bowl is full and cupboards are chokka. He's a hoot. So I must go and do a BIG shop for bread, butter and cheese. ASAP :rotfl:
