The intended productive day tailed off this afternoon, but all the washing got done, line dried and put away, bins got emptied and a bit of a tidy up done.

I had an enquiry by email from the car advert within 2 hours of advertising it last night, so replied to that but no response since. I hoovered it today and made sure it was ready just in case. Also took it out for a drive (not very MSE using fuel) but wanted to get the idle settled as it is a bit up and down at the start of each spring from lack of use over winter and pleased to say it has sorted itself nicely now. It's quite MSE in that as I don't like parking it near other cars, shops etc to avoid it getting marked, I didn't stop until I got back home again and onto the drive :rotfl:

Haven't really done much on the financials either other than Inbox Pounds which is up at £18.63 and another 6p from Qmee.

CC statement for May is available online, so will sort a payment to that next week. As it's on 0% I used to leave it until a week before due date, so I'd earn a bit of interest on it in the current account, these days I prefer to see my signature going down! :D

The batch chilli I made last night produced 4 extra meals for the freezer and I still had half a pack of mince left over, so tonight I made 2 cottage pies - one we had for dinner, one for the freezer and a batch of cheese and onion potato cakes. So we've got good batch stocks of our usuals again now.

Tomorrow I need to cut the grass - I've tried bribing DS with Ald! chocolate bars to no avail. :rotfl:

Same here Beanie...trouble is DS still has a stock that I am drip feeding him, so my offer of an extra bar in exchange for grass cutting wasn't incentive enough. I've cut it myself today instead.

Hope you've warmed up without the heating ;) It's been a warm day here, but not so sunny as yesterday. I've been so lazy today (apart from the grass), I got as far as dusting/polishing the bedrooms and that's it  Will do bathroom after DS has bathed tonight.

My friend did her charity jump off a building yesterday  I sponsored her as much for her bravery as the charity, so need to drop £10 off to her this week.

I've spent ages reading but not posting on here today. Trouble is I start over-thinking things and want to get ahead of myself, which in turn de-motivates me. :( I need to pay off £522 a month if I want to get the CC finished before it's 0% expires - that's not going to happen unless the sports car sells and no interest today.

I haven't done any of the financials except checking freepostcodelottery either and there's all the work stuff to get caught up on and ready for tomorrow. And iron DS's school shirts.

Better get bottom in gear and do dinner next. Can see a busy evening ahead. :)

I wouldn't be concerned that you've had no interest on the car today. If the advert is good and the car is at the right price, it will sell. Did you get a phone call or viewing from the email enquiry in the end?

Talking of cars ... I'm going to look at one this evening. :o As for lawn mowing, had that job myself today. We've rather a lot of grass and I hate gardening though I (try to) make it fun with a 60 year old petrol mower.

Thanks Alex - it's early days for getting interest I agree. Nothing further has come after my reply to the enquiry Friday night. Pretty sure the price is right...might be cheeky and ask you to look at the ad with your experience ;):D

Good luck with your viewing this evening :D.

I've always disliked mowing, even worse since having the dogs as it's badly uneven with patches missing. Had a lovely garden and stripey lawn for several years, courtesy of a retired chappie who for £20 a month would spend hours doing it. Fortunately, him stopping coincided with me cutting back spending.

Some bits are still nice - I do try but am not good at gardening. My hanging baskets are usually a success and am looking forward to planting those in another week or so (get any potential frosts out of the way). Have a waterbutt on stand (brand new from Bay of E £10) so no added cost to the water bill as a rule. Have given up on planting pots - the dogs just eat them/pull them out/bring them in to swap for proper treats :rotfl:

The garden needs a make-over again really. Have a raised area that was geared towards DS with bark where he used to have his sand pit and swing, still got his wooden playhouse (now used as a shed but falling apart). Bark all gone thanks to dogs and replaced by weeds (that I keep pulling up ). Little water feature with stones around it - they slip with the rain onto the surrounding earth with shrubs.

Pergola is leaning due Wysteria that's wrapped itself, but is looking gorgeous as the vines are hanging down underneath and around the edge. It's a 'quarter' shape on a quarter deck - very pretty.

Main bit of grass I'd like to have artificial, the second smaller bit, I tried looking for some paving slabs on Freecycle last year, as could do with a run under the utility/kitchen windows to put the wheelie bins on, then gravel the rest there maybe.

It's not a big garden, but I did have it landscaped back in 2003 and now it's just tired and needs some changes to dog proof and make it more middle-aged friendly :rotfl: Aside from fascia replacements, garage side door and window replacement and the kitchen/utility insulation, it's on the priority list. :)

Just sent £300 to the CC this morning.

The £3k emergency fund is back intact as well and should still be there at month end...providing no emergencies!

Bouncing back after my doom and gloom feeling yesterday. :D

That's brilliant sending £300. I would like to have an emergency fund but made the decision to hammer the debts down instead. I will start saving immediately after I pay this lot off

Send the ad over, I'll be happy to have a look.

Your garden doesn't sound so bad. Artificial grass though ....

:rotfl: I think new sofas sit at No.37 here!

Too risky for me not to have the EF without a more secure income than SE. I may well end up using some of it to clear the CC at the end of the 0% period though, if I've still got the sports car.

You're a star Alex, thank you as always. Will PM a copy and paste job.

You're right, the garden isn't that bad, if I had more strength and my back wasn't dodgy all the time, I'd tackle it myself. Some of the new grasses are very realistic, though I love the smell of freshly cut grass and would definitely miss that.

My Mum used to be a fab gardener, however she has given up on 'directing' me :rotfl: and said I should try 'garden in a roll' or something...sort of gardening by numbers and comes with a drawing you lay over the border and all the plants. That sounds about my level :rotfl:
