The march to financial freedom

Good stuff MiT, can't help costs associated with stock for bottomless pits of children!
* * *
I've had to pop to Sburys tonight for DS's cooking bits and also Mum wanted a couple of things too. Total bill £4.45, of which £1.89 was out of my money, but I've taken that out of general spends rather than food budget. I did get a YS Hovis 7 Seeds loaf of bread for 45p and a treat of 2 cinammon whirls for 79p. They've been eaten already
Another very busy work day, but all good. Can't believe it's May tomorrow and I've been writing this diary for 6 months now  Does feel a little like my marching boots have been swapped for some cosy put-your-feet-up-a-bit slippers as I'm not debt-busting at the rate I was, but still heading in the right direction and no desire to go backwards.
Financials then:
- bank account checked - monthly use and pay off CC has rolled over and whole payment set up for 19th May
- freepostcodelottery (both) checked
- Nectar Adpoints - so slow this week, only 17
- Nectar Canvass - not looked at
- Nectar card - still at £59.28
- Inbox Pounds - small movement up to £18.02
- Qmee - another 11p - earnt over £5.50 since starting that
I've phoned British Gas about the free loft insulation, only to be on hold for 10 minutes (freephone number thankfully) and then when connected, got cut off. Ended up submitting the 'Call me Back' form...so they did, whilst I was out at Sburys :rotfl:
Have texted niece about her fiancee looking at the tyre, so that's a work in progress.
Think that's it for tonight. New month and here we go again.
Hope everyone has had a good day.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020

Whoop! It's mortgage capital payment day and I've sent £750 this morning. It means I've reached the first milestone I was aiming for of owning 50.06% of the house. :j I've also reached the second milestone of it dropping into the £120ks at £129,850. :j The third milestone is the interest payment should drop from the £400s to £300s this month too - will have to wait those 14 long days for the letter to arrive though! Overpayments now total £510.
Payment off the debt will be early next week once the statement is in - currently budgeted £250, maybe £270.

Aww thank you ladies. I've had a spring in my step today.
BG phoned tonight about the free loft insulation - if I'd not have already had the house loft done, I could have got that and the single storey bit done together for free now. So no freebie this time and once again, it'll get left awhile longer.
GP appointment made - the first one they offered me was over 2 weeks away  and I'll have run out of meds by then, so I am booked in for next Thursday instead.
Have approved last year's accounts and with the car changes I owe a bit more tax than I'd worked out (by about £400 ), so whilst there's enough to cover the HMRC payment due in July, I'll be leaving £50 a month extra in the business account to reduce the deficit and bring my figures inline again. No big deal on that one, just a pain to be reducing my 'salary' further.
Financials then:
- bank account checked - higher pension amount also gone out
- freepostcodelottery (both) checked
- Nectar adpoints - a double pointer and a few more, total 33 pts
- Nectar Canvass - must look at that
- Nectar Search - must start the new month of getting to 100
- Nectar value - up to £58.67, mostly due to CC points
- Inbox Pounds - a little increase to £18.16
- Qmee - nothing as yet today
DS has pulled a corker but I'm  and . I go on about how much cheaper Ald! is and don't like him buying expensive chocolate at the local shop, at the same time I will only get him 1 bar of the 30p Ald! a week. So what has he gone and done...only got a schoolfriend (who lives near Ald!) to get 12 bars  . He nonchalantly tells me about how far his £3.60 has gone compared to it would only buy 3 bars locally. :rotfl:
So I've hidden them all (I hope well enough!) and he can have maximum of 1 bar every 2 days. Can't help but laugh, but he seriously isn't having all that chocolate to hand as it'll be gone!
I've got to head down to Farm F00ds shortly, as my Mum has phoned with a list of items she wants. My challenge is not to buy anything from my grocery budget, infact I feel guilty about the £1.89 not coming from it last night, so I'll probably 'fess up on the GC thread and move it to its rightful place :rotfl:
Hope everyone has had a good day.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Ah, that's a whole other spreadsheet :rotfl:

Another working week almost complete - not quite though, as I'm also working tomorrow :T Looking forward to still getting a 2 day weekend with the Bank Holiday, so good timing.
I managed to avoid any temptation in the FF shop last night I did for Mum, so no added spending there thank goodness.
I've finalised my May budget and will be paying £275 off the debt when the statement is available online next week.
Financials:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
- Nectar adpoints - nothing new, still only 33 this week
- Nectar Canvass - did an 80 pointer last night
- Nectar Search - off the blocks at 5/100
- Nectar card value - still on £58.67
- Inbox Pounds - up a little to £18.22
- Qmee - another 11p
I've got plenty of personal use fuel, so don't think I'll need any this month and just one expensive birthday - a 21st.
Fingers crossed dog groom and boiler service come in on their respective budgets and with a bit of luck, some smaller earners too. I am hoping to add to the £275 CC payment this month.
June is a biggie - some big family birthdays and our weekend away. I usually use my smartphone maps for directions, but it's got a habit of not locating me lately. I am thinking I might need a satnav at some point soon. Hmmm.
SPORTS CAR - SPORTS CAR - SPORTS CAR.
That's a reminder to focus on getting that sorted, advertised and sold.
Happy Friday everyoneBack on the DFW Wagon:

I've done it - the sports car is advertised for sale :j Due to my long membership of a particular site, I was able to advertise it for free as well. :j
My niece's fiancee was able to check my tyre this afternoon at his place of work and it doesn't need a replacement - he has used some pro stuff to stick it and it is safe. It also had a geometry alignment check and was pretty much spot on from factory setting. Woo!!
Now to wait and see if there is any interest (and I'd better hoover it inside tomorrow :rotfl:) I did commit the cardinal sin of forgetting to put the new tax disc in until after we'd got back  so had a nervous drive home once I realised.
So that was this afternoon. This morning I was working which went well and tonight I've made a batch chilli. So there's 3 very MSE things today. :T
Usual financials then:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery (both) checked
- Nectar adpoints - still on 33, end of month is always less (having checked on my points log)
- Nectar canvass and search - nothing done there today
- Nectar card - moved on up to £59.07
- Inbox Pounds - a little bit more and up to £18.42. Surveys galore are sitting there calling me
- Qmee - another 5p in the pot
I have yet to do all the routine housework stuff, so tomorrow will be my 'Saturday' - washing, grass cutting and housework.
