Alex, if you do a good job with making your own, then that's all you need to get started and the perfect marketing picture. :D

I expect parcel delivery cards to arrive then in the next few days - being as organised as I am ;) I'll await all 3 and pick them up from the sorting office in one go and save some fuel into the bargain. :D

    * * *

Heavy mist this morning has finally given way to some gorgeous sunshine and we're back from a quick trip to see Mum. DS has another Easter Egg in his mitts, though that's sure to be sitting in his stomach within the next [STRIKE]30[/STRIKE] 5 minutes I expect.

He's also sorted out his blazer contents in readiness for tomorrow - including 19p roadkill found in the school playground and has donated it to our change bucket. Good lad! :D

I chuckled to myself en route home, as we counted 32 cars sat at traffic lights waiting to turn into the road to a retail park. All that queueing to park on a verge or driving around awaiting a space, to visit furniture/sofa shops with 'double discounts' and 'interest free credit'. No thank you! Sure someone will remind me of this when my halo slips though ;)

Lunch is using up some pasta and a cheese sauce packet that's just about in date. Dinner is LO gammon.

I've even caught up on work stuff in readiness for tomorrow and after lunch, shall be doing a quick whizz housework round and putting the washing away.

    Financials then:
    -bank account checked
    - daytime freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar adpoints and canvass - to look at
    - Nectar card - up to £56.56
    - Inbox Pounds - up to £15.80
    - Qmee - no more today as yet

I'm feeling very DFW today. :D

I'll let you know how I get on when I start, rather looking forward to doing a few projects around the house this summer, in fact. Well, I am for today.

As for queuing for "double discount" "furniture", once your halo slips I'll remind you not to be a sheep and buy rubbish like that. Buy cheap, buy twice. ;)
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

He he - we're on our second set of sofas in 28 years - both Alstons. This one isn't lasting so well though - only 9 years old - but guess that's what having a child does to it. Hence will wait until he's left home for the next (and possibly last) one. :)

I'm pleased with the Nectar points, considering I hardly shop in there! A look at the breakdown (since Feb) shows 1400 bonus points, 700 adpoints, 1600 Canvass, 300 Search, so I guess double that since I joined all those in October and that's where most have come from. Another 1000 from British Gas (though am just leaving them), and another 100 per month roughly for using my Sburys credit card as my monthly use and pay off card. Oddments from eBay and eshops.

:D Pleased with my decorating efforts, though I have done an eBay search or 2 to look for furniture for the guest bedroom. :o So I might have caught the decorating bug again. Will have the time with no summer holiday booked!

We have only had 2 in 30 years - Habit*t then Laur* Ashl*y. Also still using the same vacuum cleaner we bought in 1984 - it cost me nearly a weeks wages then:eek: Does the job so why replace it!?

Everything done and ready for the new and short working week. :D

Nectar Adpoints checked - Off the blocks with 41 points earnt
    Evening freepostcodelottery checked too

Sports car goes in for it's service tomorrow, I have no idea what the cost of that will be, but have budgeted £200.

We've also the day in London coming up on Saturday, so I need to sort train tickets (lots of deals on those around) and also activity tickets and taking a picnic/snacks/drinks.

DS has a medical appointment on Wednesday which falls late morning, so I'll be getting ever closer to needing to buy personal use fuel again this month with the running around for that.

They'll also be school transport to pay for this half term of £40 once the letter comes home - that's budgeted for.

Hmm, looking like a spendy week ahead with a bigger food shop as well tomorrow night.

Better turn my attentions to earning then. :)

There maybe some exciting news to update you on later - suffice to say, the garage owner where I've just taken the sports car for it's service is expressing an interest in buying it and I've set down my initial price.

When I (presumably) collect it later, I'm to take all the documents with me...fingers crossed this is a good sign. :j

The sports car is home with me after a major service and new spark plugs - cost £235.80.

No sale just yet - it's for the owner's wife who has been up, driven it and wants it - but it's got to be paid for from her hubby's retirement pot! So discussions between them are to ensue and he's looked through all the documents, taken a copy of the spec and my contact details. My gut feeling is positive.

If nothing comes of it, and with being out all day Saturday, it will go up for sale on a national website on Sunday. I think that's fair.

Pricewise, even if I dropped the asking price by £500, I'll still have enough to pay off the debt and some to spare.

The worst bit wasn't the bill - it was that it got wet being sat outside after the service :rotfl: That's only the second time in 3 years!

    Late update tonight.

Missed the postman as expected, however he did manage to put one parcel through the door - DS's new school trousers and they are a good fit, so £12.45 well spent there.

The third and final pension increase letter for the year also arrived - going up from £97.13 to £98.41 from next month. Budget spreadsheet updated.

Weekly food shop No.4 of 5 done in Ald! tonight and spend was £23.37. Quite pleased with that as it included some items for batch cooking and a big bag of dog food. Need to update sig and GC thread.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - mortgage interest went out today
    - freepostcodelottery (both) - checked
    - Nectar adpoints - checked but no additional, still on 41
    - Nectar canvass - nothing new to do there
    - Nectar card - still at £56.56
    - Inbox Pounds - up a little to £15.92
    - Qmee - picked up another 6p there and now have another 57p to move to PP/bank account

    Think that's it for today.

Hope everyone has had a good day. :)
